Summary
“I didn’t say I minded, uh, sharing a bed with you.” Robby scratches at his beard and tries not to look at Jack. It’s hard because Jack isn’t even looking at the road; he’s smiling sideways at him.
“Don’t worry. I don’t kick.”
“I think the phrase is ‘I don’t bite’.”
Jack’s grin widens.
“That’s the problem. I do bite.”
Robby fears his recovery is going to feel very long.

Summary
"Out with it then," Jacob says when there's a lull in the conversation. "The real reason for this call, I know you far too well, remember?"
"Alright…I've got someone I want you to meet with.....He's stubborn, avoidant, resistant, in denial, angry, burnt out, too fucking smart for his own good," Caleb lists off.
"What's his name?"
"Michael, Michael Robinavitch."

Summary
"There’s a miniscule part of his brain that can still break through during moments like this. It’s the part of his brain that makes him think about the love he has for his Bubbe and for Jack, and the love they have for him in turn, but it’s not enough to keep him from doing what he’s doing. He doesn’t think it ever will be."
An exploration of Robby's mental health struggles and what he does to deal with it.
Snapshots of Robby and Jack's lives together and apart from October 1986 - March 2027.

Summary
An unexpected break-up means Robby ends up going to Pittfest with Jake after all. He asks Abbot to cover half his shift, and Abbot is happy to agree—surely half a day shift can't be nearly as chaotic as the usual night shift. Everything that happens later changes his perspective on plenty of things, from just how crazy the day shift can get, to where exactly he wants to stand with Robby.

Summary
It isn't the storm of a lifetime. It isn't even a hurricane. Robby wouldn't have thought twice of it, if the power hadn't gone out. While Robby wouldn't necessarily classify himself as being afraid of the dark, a combination storm-blackout... well, it reminds him of a very different time. He did his residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans in 2009, after all, and the memories that come back to him are dark indeed.
Thankfully, he has a partner that will drive through floodwaters unasked to find him.Bookmarked by Sheplayedthefiddle

Summary
Darnell nodded, glancing over Robby like he was trying to place him in the hierarchy of important to ignorable and it could go either way. "What's this?"
"MSF FNG," Jack shot back. Whatever that meant, he sounded amused.
Darnell scoffed and looked to Robby, expression going decidedly unimpressed. "Oh, yeah? You here to find yourself? Have an adventure? Do something hard?" he asked, each question more mocking than the last.
And there was that question again, like it was haunting Robby. He stifled his instinct to bite back and kept it simple: "I'm here to help."

Summary
As soon as Jack registers that there’s a person-sized shadow huddled on the front steps to his apartment, he knows that it’s Robby. He recognizes the contours of the body backlit by the bulb which illuminates the steps: short hair disarrayed, limned with gold in the light; the line of his throat, starkly pale beside the soft thick darkness of his beard; the defeated slope of his shoulders under the same green long-sleeved shirt he wore during his shift. Jack slows his pace as he approaches. Robby must notice him, the only figure on the empty street, but he doesn’t move.

Summary
Robby sagged a little, another tiny rush of air out. Jack pretended not to notice any of it even as it slid through him, his hypothesis gaining evidence, firming in his mind.
No, Jack didn't think anyone ever touched Robby.
He was going to change that.

Summary
“Robby’s fine.” Robby realized they were still shaking hands, slow up and down, and managed to pull his hand back. “You’re, uh. Abbot?”
“Two b’s, one t, that’s me,” Jack had responded, grin still there. “Jack’s fine, though.”
“Nice to meet you.”
“It is, isn’t it?” Jack’s confident, tilted-back expression surprised another laugh out of Robby. The next one came easier. The next breath, too.
That kept happening for the next five years: Jack, talking him through it, making him laugh unexpectedly. Robby returned the favor when he could, and came up in the morning when Jack needed another body around to help him back up from the ledge. It worked. They worked, the two of them.
As should be expected, this fic deals with suicidality of various levels of active-ness. Also the normal triggers for the show apply. Take care of yourselves.

Summary
“Finally — ten long minutes later — the flow slows, thickens, stops. Akkie exhales loudly, relief mixed with exhaustion, pale and sticky but still upright. Mike adjusts his glasses, looking at him funny. “You’re a meshuganah. Fighting kids twice your size, bleeding like you’re dying, and you don’t even care.”
Akkie wipes his face on his sleeve, leaving a crimson smear, and smirks, crooked and stubborn. “Yup, don’t care. I’m gonna fight bad guys when I grow up. It doesn’t matter if I bleed — I’ll still win.”
Mike tilts his head, as though filing the words away in some private notebook with a grumpy sigh. “Then somebody’s gotta patch you up when you do. Guess that’ll be me then.”
