Summary
Adventliches Fix-it für "Der Preis des Lebens". Nachdem die beiden sich ja nach all dem Drama doch sehr kühl und ungeklärt von einander verabschiedet haben, konnte ich das über Weihnachten nicht einfach so stehen lassen.

Summary
"Just now, when I was on my way over, Wen Hui called again to tell me that she had just got a second corpse from the same hospital. Apparently, a young woman in the same ward just dropped dead as well. And she had been exhibiting the same symptoms: Flashbacks, hallucinations but none of the other symptoms associated with PTSD or psychosis.” Dr Walid looked at Nightingale questioningly. “Ring any bells?”
Nightingale frowned. “I can't say it does, no. But we'd better check both bodies for vestigia tomorrow and have a look around the hospital.”

Summary
He dreams of the spires of his cathedral, the ancient grey stonework of the Dom like dark lace against a blue summer sky. He dreams of the river Rhine in all its murky glory, how it snakes through the city and how bridges will disappear into fog and invisibility on cold autumn days.
Lukas isn't homesick. But sometimes he dreams.

Summary
Ichabod was breathing deeply, his whole ribcage expanding and contracting, his mouth slightly open as though he wasn't getting quite enough air. At her touch he startled briefly and she could almost see, for a moment, the way he was drifting right now between memory and sensation – Washington's tent, his own marital bed, the here and now of a cabin in the future – his body and mind anchored in an inner state rather than a time and place.

Character Arcs in Sherlock Season 3 by fennishjournal (Shimi)

Summary
Season 3 and the interpretation of dreams:
At some point I realised that season 3 makes the most sense if I approach it not as “realistic” fiction (as I do The Reichenbach Fall) but as a) filmed from Sherlock's point of view and b) therefore being full of psychological/symbolical meanings rather than just factual events. If we see season 3 as oscillating between the object level (things and events are factual) and subject level (things and events are symbolic of aspects of and events in the psyche) things immediately become a lot more interesting.

Another John-is-a-dog story for the cat rec list.
In a previous life John was a dog....

Summary
John closes his eyes, his hand clenched into a tight fist against his belly and still trembling. For god's sake, Watson, he thinks. Maybe a dog would be better this than you are. Better at living.
Written for the sherlockbbc-fic kink meme prompt: "John deals with his nightmares and PTSD every day. But sometimes it gets to be too much for him, and he retreats into himself and pretends he's a dog."

Bookmarker's Notes
A John-is-a-dog story for the cat rec list.
Sometimes, when everything gets too much, John enters into dog headspace. Surprisingly believable.

Summary
Sherlock/Lestrade, Sherlock/John. Sherlock is an idiot. Except when he's not. (But he usually is.)
Written for queer-fest, prompt was: Sherlock Holmes/any character, He's asexual, not aromantic. You'd have to be an idiot not to understand the difference. Unfortunately, most people are.

Bookmarker's Notes
For the next set of OT3 recs
Lestrade is straight but biromantic. Sherlock is asexual but not aromantic. They have a thing and then John shows up and things get vaguely OT3 flavoured.

Summary
Did this mean he'd resolved his trust issues? John wondered vaguely, that he trusted Sherlock not to hurt him? He doubted it. The truth was probably far worse: that he wouldn't care if Sherlock did.

Bookmarker's Notes
Thinky BDSM
Beautifully intimate descriptions of John's relationship with a knife he acquired in Afghanistan and what it means to him emotionally. The scene of Sherlock marking him is both sensual and very emotionally intense. Utterly believable.
