Summary
Sam Wilson wakes up in the hospital after a mission gone wrong to three discoveries:
One, his shoulder is wrecked.
Two, Bucky Barnes hasn't left his bedside in fourteen hours.
And three, according to the hospital staff, Bucky is apparently his husband.
It’s a paperwork mistake. Months ago, Sam listed Bucky as his emergency contact and wrote *partner* under relationship. He meant *mission partner*. The hospital made a different assumption.
Sam thinks this is the funniest thing that’s happened to him all year.
Bucky does not.
But then Bucky volunteers to take Sam home. He starts cooking his meals, keeping track of his medication, helping with physical therapy, and making Sam’s coffee exactly the way he likes it.
And somewhere between *emergency contact* and *husband*, Sam starts to wonder when the misunderstanding stopped sounding quite so ridiculous.

Summary
Post BOFA - Bilbo stays in Erebor for a full year, hopeful that he can carve out a place amongst the dwarves. Unfortunately his relationship with the king is still tense, and the two have not regained their easy comradery from the quest. The hobbit announces he plans to depart for the Shire, garnering a poor joke from Bofur about having “his pick of the hobbit lasses!” Bilbo however disabuses them of this notion quickly, assuring them all it is just his home he misses - besides, he would be considered virtually ineligible due to his going on the quest. The dwarves won’t take this lying down and make sure to introduce him to a host of strapping dwarves who would properly appreciate their burglar. Thorin meanwhile, is turning into a green eyed monster, but it isn’t the gold he is craving.

Early fall in Pittsburgh, following the events of season 2. Mel hasn’t seen Langdon all summer. He’s taken time off to sort through his divorce without drowning. Move out. Fix what’s broken. Mel remembers how they left off watching the fireworks. Today, It’s Langdon’s first day back in the ER for good. That shaking hand hasn’t left her mind. Maybe this time she’ll hold it.
A fall Kingdon fic, filling The Pitt void after the season 2 finale. Expect knit sweaters, slow burn (ish - we’ll see how impatient I get), and a fair amount of yearning. Littered with medical inaccuracies, probably.
