Summary
For every problem that had been solved by Aizawa removing Hitoshi from his foster home, it seemed ten new ones had cropped up. Only this time, they were all internal; something wrong with Hitoshi, rather than the situation. That was worse, Hitoshi decided. It guaranteed that accusing fingers would find him eventually and this time, they’d be right.
Aizawa and Hizashi were doing their best— though he couldn’t understand why. It was him who was failing.
He felt bad. They were doing so much for him— so much he didn’t deserve— and how did he repay them? By remaining as much of a problem as he’d ever been?
He owed them and he knew it. If he couldn’t repay them by becoming better, then he would have to find another way. And he was pretty sure he already had.

Denki Kaminari is the official class clown and idiot of 1-A. Everyone knows this and even the blond accepts it, however what if there was more to his antics than what he let on?
Not too long after Hitoshi Shinso joined the infamous class, he starts to realize that the blonde isn't as much of an idiot as everyone first presumes. Instead, there seems to be an underlying layer to Kaminari that no one has ever questioned or bothered to investigate.
Or at least, that was the case. Things begin to take a spin the moment Shinso uncovers the blonde's untreated insomnia and clear ADHD.

Summary
It was pretty immediately clear to Adam when he woke up that the day was not going to be a good one.
Some mornings, it was just like that- whether he woke up spluttering and screaming from a dream where he opened his eyes underwater, the stench of the bathroom hitting him as soon as he took a full breath, or whether he woke up with his skin fitting wrong on his body, his mind latching on to all of the ways his body didn’t match, they were more common than he would like them to be. At least the latter was familiar, he supposed.

He knocked before he could talk himself out of it, and then turned away to pick at his lip, nail digging in until he could taste blood. A minute passed, and then two- Lawrence had definitely been asleep, Adam could picture him fitting on his prosthetic, his lips pressed together in focus as he secured it. Oddly, the image settled something in his chest.
Footsteps, one heavier than the other, approached the door. Adam scratched at his forearm, waiting for the click of the lock, the turn of the handle as the door swung open to reveal an extremely sleep-rumpled and exhausted looking Lawrence.
“... Adam?”

The kitchen was warm in the lowlight, the usually more stark lines of it softened by the glow. It had been the main draw of the apartment, when Lawrence had been viewing different places- neither him nor Alison had had much time to cook, with how busy their respective careers had been, but he had wanted to change that. He had changed that. His therapist had been a huge fan of cooking as a hobby for him- had thought that something with a tangible end product would be good for him. He had hated to admit it, but they were right.
He tilted the glass in his hand, pouring wine into it and then smiling to himself when he heard footsteps behind him.
“Fancy seeing you here.”

Diana had her own room, too- Lawrence had let her pick out the colours herself, fill it with things she loved. Right now, it was an explosion of pink and sparkles. Her psychologist had worried aloud to them that they were worried that Diana’s interests weren’t progressing in line with her peers, but Lawrence had just waved him off. If it meant having his little girl for even a moment longer, he would gladly take it.
She was in there right at that moment, her little voice audible as she talked her toys through another one of her tea parties. He knew Adam could hear her too, if the way he glanced towards her door with a soft smile every time she grew louder was any indication.
“Dinner’s almost ready, if you want to call her.”

Adam forced his hands under the stream of water, teeth gritted, jaw aching. It was stupid to get his hopes up anyway. He’d turned the hot tap on ridiculously high knowing it wouldn’t wash anything away, the burn at least enough to keep him grounded. Closing his eyes he leaned forward, forehead on the burning tap and groaned. It was all a waste anyway. How many of them had come through, how many had come out. How many had he turned away from, only to hold his breath until Hoffman returned to tell him the outcome. How many more.

There was a beat of silence, and then he said it. “I love you.”
Adam’s heart stopped and restarted, and it was all he could do not to shrink back away from the words. It wasn’t that- well, it wasn’t as if Adam hadn’t known it. He had seen the way the man looked at him sometimes- it made his stomach bottom out, the way that the man regarded him. He knew that Lawrence had felt… strongly, about him, but there was a difference between knowing it and having the words out there between them, fizzling out in the silence.
