She walks softly across the bedroom, the old oak floors creaking under her bare feet, and leans on the bathroom doorframe. “You look like an ad for glowing skin and natural beauty,” she teases.
Nora glances at her in the mirror, eyes warm and just a little sly. “You’re such a flirt,” she says, swiping her eyeliner away in a practiced stroke. “Trying to distract me from the war I wage against my own pores.”
“Is it working?” June asks, stepping in behind her, close enough that their hips brush.
Nora pretends to think about it, mouth curving. “Depends what you’ve got in mind.”
June’s answer is a kiss pressed to the back of Nora’s shoulder. Nora shivers, but doesn’t move away. Instead, she tips her head, letting June’s lips skate up her neck, finding that spot behind her ear that always makes her knees soft.

Hayden never expected Ilya Rozanov to worm his way into his family. Or into his children's hearts. Or, reluctantly, into his own.
Times Ilya started to become Hayden's family, and one time Hayden realized he always would be.
