The stone cold crack of freedom whips through my body. Damp sock clad feet beat against the pavement as the downpour of rain blurs my vision, till it bleeds into a sight that isn’t my own.
30 years before I ran this route, my aunt did the very same until her legs gave out. Our only difference is I won't get caught. Not here. Not now. Not ever.
Her feet bled a trail of courage and her tears mixed down into the Earth, till her sweat brewed into the dead grass and brought it light. I can smell it now: her blood and strength, her tears and bravery, her sweat and joy.

At that Oscar stepped out in front of him and forced his eyes onto his by holding Ruby's head in between his hand, “Yes, I do. We have to talk, Everyone out.”
At that Jamal made a dash for the front door while Monse and Cesar eyed them, slowly following after Jamal, but before any of them could leave Ruby grabbed Oscars wrist and pulled in away until he could lock eyes with Cesar before talking again, “NO, Stay.”
Or, After the gun shot Ruby is struggling and at the party that Spooky drags him to they maybe sorta fall in love.

Will chose a booth tucked into the corner, one that gave him a clear view of both the front door and the back exit. Old habits died slowly, if ever.
A young woman approached with a notepad in hand. She had kind eyes and a name tag that read Molly.
Before she could say a word, Will cut her off.
“An Americano,” he said. “Four shots of espresso.”Her eyebrows lifted—not sharply, but with the kind of surprise that suggested she’d seen a lot, just maybe not that.
“Well,” she said after a beat, “I was mildly annoyed you didn’t let me speak first, but now I’m a little intrigued.” A faint smile tugged at the corner of her mouth.
“Oh, I’m sure both things can be true at once,” Will muttered, waving a hand vaguely, as if gesturing to the universe itself. “A paradox and all that.”
Molly chuckled softly. “I’ll get right on that. You look like you need it. And maybe a friend to listen, if you’re open to it.” She gave him a quick wink and turned back toward the counter.
Or, 11 months after Hannibal turns himself in Will meets Molly and tells her the great Hamnigram Love story because why not.

Will didn’t respond. He stood, unmoving, hands in his pockets, staring at them like the concept of joy offended him personally.

Steve hadn’t planned on getting involved with the government, not in any real way. But after the last Upside Down incident, when they wanted him to disappear quietly—probably to keep all the monsters and mayhem under wraps—he saw an opportunity.
They tried to pay him off.
Somehow, with a few veiled threats, some very creative blackmail (involving a tape, a senator, and a very confused Demodog), and a lot of stubborn charm, Steve walked away with a huge property on the edge of the forest and a blank check to “make it livable.” Livable for a small army, that is.
Or, Steve builds the party & co. A pack house after blackmailing the government into giving him the funds for it bc he's just a mom trying his hardest- oh and he gets himself a boyfriend!

The clang of steel reminds him of the operating tables, back when they still used restraints and called it “augmentation.” No sedatives. They needed to measure the pain, not prevent it. His screams were logged. His convulsions were charted. He learned quickly not to flinch — not for his pride, but because flinching meant they'd poke again.
He was twenty when they gave him the serum.
Or DafffoDaisy gave a prompt "I loved the shame rooms! If you take story requests could you do one about Alexei and the tortures he went through to become a super soldier / what he was doing in Russia and how they impacted him? I know the movies kinda play it off for laughs but when you think about how young he must have been when he got the serum the /operating read room adjacent on missions implications are just as horrifying as Bucky and the widows."

He braced himself for discomfort. But no one laughed. No one judged.
“I think that’s really brave,” El said gently.
“Yeah,” added Jonathan. “And overdue.”
He let the breath go. “Anyway, my therapist—Frank—he got me in touch with a lawyer. Government-sponsored. And before you freak out, no one’s in trouble. It’s... good. Or at least, it could be.”
Now came the part he wasn’t sure how they’d take.
“I’m filing for partial custody. Of you guys.”

It started with Bob screaming.
Not a startled grunt. Not a bad-dream mumble.
A full, guttural scream that tore down the hallway of the New Avengers Tower at 3:24 a.m.Bucky was the first one in the room—because of course he was. Trained soldier, never fully sleeping. He hit the lights and found Bob curled on the floor, clutching his own face, sobbing.
Then Ava blinked in through the wall. Yelena kicked the door down for no reason. Alexei barreled in in his bathrobe. John arrived groggy and annoyed—until he saw Bob.
And then the walls melted.
Or, Bob has a nightmare and accidentally pulls everyone into a shame maze thats kinda like a mirror realm.

That's it that's the story.Also the song is Piano man by Billy Joel lol, and im currently rewriting/extending it since this piece was years old and I think ive definitely gotten better!

Yelena was sitting cross-legged on the floor, thumbing through a soft-covered journal with a deeply creased spine. Alexei reclined with his back against the couch, flipping through another with a low whistle. Ava sat on the rug, her brow furrowed in quiet concentration, one of his smaller notebooks resting open on her knees. Bucky was crouched by the box—the box, his box—pulling out another stack.
A battered cardboard box. Stuffed with journals. His journals.
His entire insides recoiled at once.
“No. No, no, no—” John’s voice caught before it even escaped his lips. He took a sharp step back, but the room had already seen him.
Yelena looked up, her eyes widening. “John.”
Or the team finds John's Journals where he has writen down all of his trauma and the team finds them without really knowing what they are and before they even really read them he walks in.
Also champagne_cocaine_chaos boosted my ego and made me feel like I could write another fic today so this is the outcome of giving me compliments on my writing!

Yelena tilted her head. “You’ve been watching a movie in Russian... for ten minutes... and only now noticed?”
“I just assumed it was some weird war movie thing!” John defended. “You know—vibe watching! Like how people watch anime without subtitles and just... get the gist.”
“You thought you could vibe watch Soviet cinema?” Ava said with a raised brow, amused.
“I mean... there were explosions!” John gestured. “I was following the emotional beats!”
Bucky smirked. “You’re the only one who doesn’t speak Russian?”
John blinked. “Wait. All of you speak Russian?”

His workouts were almost theatrical, and he’d never missed a chance to show off his physique before. His shirt, a fitted navy rash guard that clung a little too tightly to his broad shoulders, was a notable departure from his usual bravado.Alexei noticed first. “John… is that a shirt?” he asked, mock-incredulous, adjusting his sunglasses. “Is the world ending? Are you sick?”
Or, the team has a pool day and they are all very surprised that John isnt showing off his body since he seems like the type who would and they learn why. All while John and Bob are silently getting together!

Everyone jumped.
Even Yelena, who knew it was coming, jolted instinctively. She scooted closer to Alexei’s chair until her back was nearly pressed against the recliner’s arm, pretending it was for a better view.
Joaquin’s reaction was more dramatic. In a flash of instinct, his hands reached out- and landed squarely in both Sam and Bucky’s laps. Neither said a word. Sam raised an eyebrow. Bucky glanced down. Joaquin very slowly, very awkwardly, retracted both hands and coughed into his fist.
And then there were Bob and John.
At first, they were still on opposite sides of the couch’s bend, Bob hunched near the armrest and John doing some kind of origami with his legs. But as the movie progressed- Drew Barrymore's death, the masked attacker vanishing into the shadows, Sidney Prescott's arrival- they started to shift.
Or, the team has movie nights and they have started watching scream (with john ans bob slowing falling for one another and the team realizing Sam/Bucky/Joaquin are a thing)

Ava and Alexei, mid-conversation, froze for a moment and then spoke in perfect unison, their voices a mix of surprise and amusement.
“Wow.”
John’s head snapped toward them. “What wow?” he asked, his tone taking on a faintly defensive edge, like someone who had just exposed more than they meant to.
Yelena, leaning against the counter with a half-empty coffee mug, straightened abruptly. “No, not wow!” she said, her voice tinged with alarm.
A beat passed, then she added, more thoughtfully now, “I mean-‘wow’ as in, I just didn’t expect that from you.”Or, Myceratops- "I think it would be a neat fic if we got one of Bob's irrational fears. Idk I have thalassaphobia* (fear of large bodies of water) so a lake trip with everyone sounds fun. I'd probably toss in a goose attacking John too"

At some point, probably during a collective lapse in judgment, the Thunderbolts decided to try some “team building.” Someone ( still don’t know who to blame) proposed Rotating Interest Week. The idea was simple: each day, one of the team members would take the lead and drag the rest of the group headfirst into their personal passion project, no questions asked. One person’s obsession became everyone’s reality for the day.
Wholesome in theory. Unhinged in practice. A beautiful, chaotic mess by the end.

They were currently seated in a messy circle that looked more like a garage sale than anything healing: bean bags, ancient recliners, spinny office chairs, and a couple of those cheap plastic ones that screamed AA meeting. Sam stood in front of the group, whiteboard marker already in hand.
“Alright, folks,” he said, clapping his hands together like a kindergarten teacher trying to wrangle chaos. “Today’s activity? Feelings.”
At that, Bob’s whole face lit up like he’d been waiting for this moment his whole life. Alexei jolted awake from a half-nap, reached into his jacket, and pulled out a suspiciously linty donut. Yelena and Bucky rolled their eyes so hard it was practically synchronized. Walker was scowling at a badly drawn stick-figure version of the team that Bob had proudly taped to the wall last week. And Ava? Ava sighed. Deeply.
“That's the enthusiasm I like to hear!” Sam said with a too-bright grin.
