Because Donnie didn't understand. People had complained about his actions occasionally, but he always tried so hard to fix them. Everything he did, he tried so, incredibly hard on. Couldnt they see that? He tried so hard.
And yet they were gone. All of them were and Donnie *didn't understand.* What did he do wrong? He was just a child. Children make mistakes. Donnie could fix all of them— couldnt he get a second chance? He wanted to fix it. He wanted them back. He wanted someone back. Anyone.
OR.
Everyone ends up leaving Donnie, and he's left to wish about death on the floor of his room.

“Nardo—! What are you—?!” Donnie yelped, hissing at the slider, shocked. Leo rubbed his face on his brother, crying wildly.
Donnie was silent. He didnt know what to do with his brother clinging to him, sobbing his eyes out.
“Dont leave. Dont leave us, Donnie. We love you. We didn't know.” He babbled out, words slurring slightly from the amount of crying he was doing. Leo nuzzled his way into Donnie's face, trying to hold his twin as close as possible. Leo— through the tears and lip quivering— planted a weak kiss on Donnie's cheek.
Donnie seemed shocked in a way.

Donnie records his suicide note and the boys find it.

Four glanced at the crushed papers in their hand. “Why are you here, Four?” They repeated for a third time, yawning tiredly.
“X.. Isnt here…” He mumbled out, his eyes shooting to their bedroom across the hall. “I cant sleep.” Oh how unfortunately true that was. Four always had sleeping issues, and X was a good fit to help that- help him in general with his… issues— which Four seemed to have an abundance of.
Alternatively: X is gone for a few days, so Four is stuck with Two. It doesnt go so well. or uh… does it?

“Give me a second to wake up and we can go…” Goh frowns. Usually Ash was excited about these sorts of things. Goh decided not to question it, stepping out of the room to let the boy get dressed.

Gou and Satoshi are out in Sinnoh, when a heavy downpour forces them to take shelter (...eventually..) for it to pass. When they find a café, Satoshi tells Gou a bit of his story, a bit more of the people have helped shape him to be who he is today. Gou can only listen, wondering if he would ever be part of that selection, or if how impossible it would be to speak up about the burning feelings he's had for Satoshi this entire time.
But what if the help Satoshi has always given to him, pushes him to do just that?

Then he meets Ash, and his whole idea of soulmates flips on its head.Ash knows he doesn't have a soulmate; the grey string tied around his neck signifies that. His soulmate hadn't even met him before he decided to cut the string. He doesn't want ever to meet the person who cut his string. Then he meets Goh, and his whole idea of Soul bonds flips on its head.

Summary
Ash had gotten hurt. Really hurt.
He nearly died, all because Goh pissed off the wrong Pokemon. Goh shudders as he remembers how hard Ash had gotten hit by the Pokemon. He pissed off by throwing a pokeball at it. Ash hadn't even gotten a chance to move as the Pokemon dived towards him, sending him falling off a nearby cliff.
Goh still remembers the sickening crunch he heard.
