Summary
The Primes learn of Sentinel's treachery and take action. After an intense battle, they believe him to be dead. Unaware to The Primes, Sentinel survives with a burning desire to take revenge against them. He does so by kidnapping The Prime's newest addition to their family: A sparkling named Optimus Prime.
Orion Pax has spent all of his life isolated in a tower with his overprotective and rather condescending father, who forbids him from leaving and strongly insists that the outside world is dangerous. While stuck on Earth, Megatron introduces Shockwave to the new member of the Decepticons. A transformer made on Earth whose entire existence and strange speech pattern catches his attention. Unfortunately, Shockwave is far too emotionally detached from society to realize why the word colleague no longer fits the relationship between them. Soundwave, a mech whose main occupation is to record and store information on everything and anything, wants nothing more than to keep records and files on the estranged scientists who speak highly of experiments that could make anyone purge their tanks. The problem? His only experience of socializing and of acceptable societal norms is through Earth media like television dramas and reality TV.

“I am Optimus Prime,” he said, bringing a servo to his chassis, “and this–” Before he could get any further through his introduction, the sparkling's optics shot wide open. His intake hung low in awe, his servos curling into his chassis in excitement.
“No way!” The tiny yellow bot gasped, all traces of fear completely erased from his field and faceplate. “You’re Optimus Prime? Like the leader of the Autobots?”
Optimus could not help the tiny laugh he let free. “Indeed, young one, the very same. In fact, this happens to be the second floor of my biggest ship.”
The yellow bot practically vibrated with excitement. “That's so cool!”
Something bitter twisted through Ratchet’s plating, watching the sparkling interact with his mate, seeing his tiny optics light up and his field glow with awe. Oh, how desperately he wished he'd stepped forward, spoken first, been faster, known better. Ratchet's systems boiled with misplaced irritation at the thought. Hadn't it always been him?
