Eddie winces as Volt presses the wet cloth to his swollen lip, gazing up at him through half-lidded eyes.
“I still won, though.” He practically hisses through his teeth, his tone coming off more aggressive than intended. His chest rises and falls with each heavy breath. A drop of blood finds its way from his nose down to his chin, Volt's eyes following its trail.
Suddenly there's a ringing in his ear, and his fingers unintentionally dig deeper into the flesh of Eddie's thigh.
He’s shaking as he moves the rag to wipe under Eddie’s nose instead, trying to ignore the growing pressure in his pants. Eddie’s gaze sweeps over him, but if he notices, he makes no attempt to draw attention to it. “I’m fine, Volt. You know me. I don’t break easy.”
|In which Eddie is a professional boxer, and Volt is his very concerned manager/cornerman. Despite this, he still folds way too easily for a beaten and bruised Eddie.
