"It never goes away. You just get used to it," Red Hood said.
"Do you also wake up with tears on your face?" Talon asked, and the earnestness of the question caught them both off-guard.
"Are you even capable of tears?"
"I wish I wasn't."
(Or, after the fall of the Court of the Owls, Talon is adrift. Until he meets Red Hood, and tries to kill him. Falling in love wasn't part of the plan.)

They didn’t know Hood was there until Nightwing had snuck through one of the windows and saw him having a tense conversation with the traffickers who ran operations there, and then one of them- the leader, probably- had taken a threatening step forward.
Hood had remedied that by shooting him in the face, and from there all hell had broken loose. Nightwing dropped down- enemy of my enemy, and also maybe Hood would kill less of them if a Bat was there (he did not) and assisted, but one of the traffickers, by the end, had managed to set up a bomb with non-insubstantial amounts of C4. So then the warehouse had been a smoking wreck. Hood had taken the brunt of it, slamming hard into a wall, mask letting out a sharp crack, and slumping, unconscious.
And- well, is Dick supposed to just leave him there?

It became yet another Alley-kid code word. If someone said they were telling Mama, that meant Jason Todd would get an earful while he planned out his next drug bust. If someone said Mama’s paying for dinner, it meant a free meal to any kid who showed up to the diner that day.

Sometimes, when it was dark enough outside that he didn’t have to look his own shame in the face as he thought it, he wished he would get hurt badly enough that something else would take over long enough for his feet to find their way to the Manor by themselves.
Sometimes, he wished that he would go right up to death’s door and wait there because he was pretty sure that Dick Grayson would come screaming to drag him away from it.

Dinah perked up from where she was slumped against the table next to Oliver. “That’s next to Gotham. Batman, what do you know?”
All eyes immediately turned to where Batman sat with his arms crossed, looking impassive as always. There was a long moment of silence and the corners of Batman’s mouth turned ever so slightly downward. Finally, in a flat tone of voice that gave no more away than his face ever did, he said, “He’s… well trained. Fast. Could be useful.”

Also known as, the League eventually figured out that Nightwing is Batman's son, but it takes a while.

Even more, Jason jokingly says it when Dick tries to go to bed, what happens when Dick calls his bluff?
