As she turns away from the window, her figure awash in the golden hues of the sun’s dying rays, Percy is overwhelmed by the sheer luck he must possess to have this to return to because Annabeth—Gods, Percy had met actual goddesses face to face, and still Annabeth is the most gorgeous person he’s ever laid his eyes on.
Her name falls from his lips like a desperate prayer to the highest power on Olympus because she’s ethereal. She's older and she’s changed, she’s not the same woman he left all those years ago, but she’s still Annabeth and he’d worship her over the Gods a thousand times over.
