Summary
To Piltover, Jayce and Viktor are some of the finest lawyers of their generation. To one another, they’re something else.
“Tell me everything,” Mel says. So Viktor does.
She takes down notes, and Viktor sips his coffee, and he braces himself for something he cannot hope to brace himself for, because he will most likely be working the most important case of his life with the renowned Medarda & Talis Firm.
The naming might get confusing, as it occasionally has when Viktor has taken cases opposite them. His solo firm is called Talis Law.
It had been a spiteful choice, intended as final fuck you to the man he will soon be working alongside.
Viktor had refused to give Jayce his surname back in the divorce.

Summary
Viktor never leaves Zaun. Instead, as Singed's protege, he draws the attention of Silco and ends up taken under the kingpins' wing, another stray in a makeshift family of outcasts and orphans.
With no one to stand by his side after the Council's ruling, a disgraced Jayce Talis enlists as an Enforcer and swiftly climbs through their ranks until he is assigned a mission befitting of the golden boy of Piltover's Police Force.
When a cadre of Enforcers barges in to the Last Drop demanding to speak with Silco, Viktor does everyone a favor by intervening in the conversation between them and his little sister before it can escalate to explosive porportions.

Summary
Jayce and Viktor were sure that the one thing they’d been waiting for all their lives was their marriage.
The one sliver of life they felt like had been missing, slipped onto their fingers and officiated through their feelings that were far too deep for the universe to comprehend. Maybe in their books, the dusty ones on the top shelf of their minds, waiting to be found by their children in twenty years or so, it was their reward for progress. What they received in return for postponing their feelings for the rest of the world.
And maybe, just maybe, this universe wouldn’t put a crack into their perfect little life they finally got to experience together.The universe’s biggest enemy in every timeline that does and doesn’t exist: Jayce and Viktor’s love.
And the universe will always respond to its enemies with the whisper of death.

OR: Viktor gets diagnosed with a terminal illness after he and Jayce get married. Jayce grows obsessed with the thought of finding a cure, and that obsession spirals until it becomes unhealthy for the both of them.

Summary
They were ready to be the final tithe to the arcane, a penance for their hubris and folly, until the Mage took their place. With the last of his power, they are thrown into another timeline, another life.
A second chance. A new life to live, in a world where minds do not know of magic. Of a world that harnessed different technology. One that never knew of them, or their crimes, their follies.
Jayce and Viktor now have to learn to navigate this new world, this new chance, and the ache they carry. They need to learn to heal, to move forward.

For once, the apartment he and Viktor shared is shrouded in silence. There’s no background music playing as someone cleans, there's not the slight scratch of a page being turned or the bubbling from the obnoxious pink kettle. There’s a thick fog of absence, of love that once filled the narrow halls and crowded rooms.
The bookshelves have gathered dust, piles of containers and take out wrappers have filled the counter. A death certificate sits on the dining table alongside the metal bracelet stamped with DNR. Sunlight pours in and settles on every piece of furniture and crevice like it’s waiting for Viktor to stand in it once more. Untouched funeral arrangements lay bare in the drawers, hidden away for next week's problem.
He can’t bring himself to let go of Viktor for good.

Summary
And so Jayce Talis has crawled out of the depths of the Undercity and through the ruins of Piltover and found himself a second chance. There has only been one person on his mind. One that he wishes he could go back to, even if it changes nothing.
His entire train of thought derails as the stranger lifts his head. Short, sharp exhales make little clouds of vapor puff from his lips. His fingers, blackened with dirt and wrapped with shreds of his own clothing, curl into a fist around the haft of his weapon, leaning against it to support his own weight. It’s the eyes that drive the air from Viktor’s lungs.
He knows those eyes.
He knows that face.
“Jayce?”
At the sound of his own name, Jayce recoils. His teeth grit together as he grabs his head to turn himself away, breaking the hold of his stare. The intensity of it lingers though. Like the bright flash of a camera. The look on his face stains itself to the forefront of Viktor’s mind. He looked like… almost like an animal.
