They say that you can either let the world destroy you or destroy the world. Izuku doesn't know which category he falls into, but he does know that he won't let anyone be hurt like he was hurt if he can help it.
With unconventional methods, a few broken bones and self-sacrificing attitude, the vigilante dubbed Carbon Cat attempts to balance crime fighting, evading arrest, living alone, and high school. He can't tell which one is the most difficult.
OR: in which Izuku never receives One For All, becomes a vigilante and tries to keep everyone at an arms length. Doesn't mean they'll let him, though.

Summary
Izuku is born Quirkless in a quirk dependent society. Struggling through school, pushing past bullying, ignoring his abuse, he clings onto his dream to be a hero tightly — it's the only thing that brings him joy. With Quirkless societies cropping up and a shoe/lace system to spot fellow Quirkless people, Izuku participates and tries to find himself a place as an aspiring Quirkless hero.
Sadly, when All Might saves him on that fateful day, all hope is lost. The man himself tells him he can't be a hero. With crushed dreams and a broken heart, he attempts to go home, only to save his main abuser — Bakugo Katsuki — from the Sludge Villain. Having proven himself worthy, All Might offers his quirk up, saying he can be a hero after all. Izuku, gripping his shattered dreams and longing for hope, for someone to tell him he *can*, says yes.
All Might is not who he seems, no matter how hard he tries to cover it up. Stuck with an abusive mentor, trapped in a toxic household, and bullied at school relentlessly, Izuku truly has no safe space or people to fall back on. He gets into UA after months of training, and finds himself with a nice teacher, caring friends, and kind people. Things aren't fixed that easily though...

Summary
My fics based around the same worldbuilding, but not in the same timeline of events - all featuring my hcs for a Quirkless community, mostly based around terms for different types of people, based on their Quirks, that the Quirkless of Japan use as code.
I've had people ask to use these terms, and I've given permission, however I expect full credit for my terms and Quirkless worldbuilding! Summary
traditions and codes were not unfamiliar to the quirkless. especially when they finally had other physical options, rather than the clunky red high-tops.
it was just strange to see izuku's own homeroom teacher performing them.
or: izuku notices that aizawa performs the same little rituals that he does, and after so long, comes to a realization.
