All in all, it’s an ordinary night. That’s expected when things happen as they have, and there’s not much to do but hope that time will heal and he’ll settle into the way things are shaped up to be. It’s not even that bad once the sun has risen and any trace of sleep has been wiped through cold water and these dead hands aren’t that dead anymore. Dreams and nightmares are shapeless, ridiculous little things given enough time. Laughable, pathetic.
Except there are nightmares, out there, that are not going to become dreams no matter how much you beg for it.
