Leo isn’t entirely sure what to make of the strange, hardened turtle who just so happens to share his brother's name, but it must be a coincidence. There's no way this turtle could be an older version of his goofy little brother. Right?

“Wha’appened?” He slurs.
“Ariana Grande happened,” Leo says, watching his brother's face for any signs of recognition. The whole thing must’ve left poor Mike more muddled than anticipated, and Leo sighs, though, in a time like this there’s absolutely no real heat to it.
“ Grand-eh mal seizure.” He explains, a little more seriously this time. “Just a baby one, really.” He keeps his hand curled around his shoulder. “How’re you feeling?”
Mikey’s eyes slide shut, and he sucks an almighty breath through his nostrils, his whole chest puffing out before he slowly exhales.
“Hmm. Like.. like Michelangelo.” He says rather drowsily.
Leo frowns, a chasm forming between his brow bone. “Huh?”
There’s the faintest of smiles tickling at his brothers mouth, the kind that chases away all the worry creeping back into Leo’s system when his brother cracks open an eye and says with a raspy voice,
“Like Michelan-jello .” He grins. “Get it? Cos I’m all shaken up.”

Summary
It's been a year since the mutagen bomb went off, mutating half of newyork, and six months since Mikey has been living without his brother's and with his friend, Woody. While adjusting to life, and dealing with trauma and grief, Mikey decides to go to therapy hoping it'll help him live a relatively normal life at 19 years old.
This fic is a mix of different adaptions but mostly taking after IDW.
