Qui-Gon disappears into the bowels of the Jedi Temple, leaving Obi-Wan in charge of Anakin.
They look at each other skeptically. Anakin’s initial excitement over Coruscant and their arrival had masked the tension simmering between them. Now, alone, they circle each other warily.
“You don’t like me much,” Anakin observes.
Obi-Wan deflects with a shrug. “It doesn’t matter whether I do or don’t.” You’re not going to be around for long, anyway.
(Obi-Wan is wrong.)
