Summary
Jaime Dominguez was a security professional and security professionals did not fall in love with their clients. Even if their client was a charming playboy prince of Sirius Alpha who had a heart of gold.
His Luminosity of the Fifth Order Prince Valdrian was not seeking a bond-mate. Navigating labyrinth of Sirian royal succession was not pleasant and he could hardly put anyone in the position of being his consort until he had a firmer idea of how the chips would fall. No matter how dear and darling his Terran bodyguard was it would be cruelty to expect the man to endure such a role.

Summary
A tiny bit of a reverse Beauty & the Beast. The beautiful scholar prince of a conquered country is given in marriage to the monstrous warrior queen of their conquerors, in an effort to keep his family and his kingdom safe. It's possible that his new wife didn't expect him to be quite as pragmatic about it as he is, though. To be fair, his family didn't either.

Watchman Nick Wright did not expect to be drawn into courtly politics, nor ever thought that he would marry a duke, and he didn't really ask for either. People like him know you don't always get to choose in life, though, and you should make the best of what you're given regardless. Now if only his husband would see it that way...

or, one hundred and thirty-three principles of the Gusu Lan, pertaining to the state of marriage
***
He bows to Wei Wuxian, sword in hand, sleeves falling properly. Wei Wuxian bows in return, and the sect leaders begin the opening courtesies, and for all of ten minutes Lan Wangji is under the impression that he is betrothed to a boy who is perfectly normal and acceptable apart from an unfortunate tendency to fidget with his clothes.
That impression does not last.

The task of the modern educator is not to cut down jungles, but to irrigate deserts.
Stiles is a single dad with two kids, and a real contempt for the status quo. Peter is a kindergarten teacher with an army of loyal little minions, and maybe a few ulterior motives.

Uchiha Itachi was sure life couldn't get any better than going out for ice cream with his baby brother. Then, Naruto happened.
Almost there. Just a little further...
"Any sign yet?"
Pressing against the wall, Naruto made another shadow illusion, just in time to see two chuunin walk into view below. One said to the other, "If the chasers don't catch him, the sweeps will. I heard they've cleared the perimeter."

Summary
In the years since Bilbo left Erebor, he has lost his respectability, gained a nephew, and gotten on with life at Bag End.
He'd left aside adventure for the comforts and peace of his little Hobbit hole, and for the love of a child who needed him. Though perhaps, adventures can yet find him.

Fíli lived his life by an old dwarven proverb: when a fool drops a treasure, a wise man picks it up (it sounded better in the original khuzdul).
Bella Baggins never quite fit in the Shire. Perhaps she was made for the mountains, instead.

Summary
Written for the Hobbit kink meme.
In a Middle Earth where dwarves dream of Heartsongs and hobbits carry the name of their fated partner as private Mark, Bilbo Baggins had never been able to properly translate the strange rows of runes inscribed on his wrist.
And likewise, Thorin Oakenshield had never imagined he would hear the voice of his Heartsong from a fussy little gentlehobbit.

Summary
Yâsithâlh barufur, zyungur; yâsithâlh gem.
Those that marry with family, with love; those that marry three.-
On the long road to the Lonely Mountain, Bilbo Baggins was becoming quite the scholar of Dwarven customs, whether she liked it or not. It often felt as much a curse as it did a blessing, but as this quest proved, her boldness and curiosity had a nasty habit of overriding her good sense.
And, of course, her ill-considered fascination with one burly dwarf in particular was simply another example of that.
