Summary
Lan Xichen, as always, was a picture of poise in his blue and white robes, the usual crispness of which was softened into a golden hue against the lanterns. The white ribbon was still stark against the others hair, and lay neatly and flat against his brow. However, this expected and peaceful demeanour was marred by the uncharacteristic brown staining the man's sleeves, as though he had been cradling an earthen pot covered in mud. There was also a lone strand of hair that had escaped the confines of his ribbon and gently caressed the others eyes. That alone was enough for Jiang Cheng to release any pending frustrations at being disturbed at such an hour.

Draco’s mouth fell open(metaphorically. In reality, he was just glowering). How much time did he have to spend with Potter exactly? Potter didn’t have the same control, though, and his mouth really did fall open, his cheeks flushing pink.
“Professor, I think there’s been a mistake-” he started, but McGonagall cut him off.
“There have been no mistakes. I don’t usually say this, but, suck it up, Mr. Potter.”
Draco turned to face the front, with a face seemingly carved of stone, and eyes sharp enough to shoot daggers at McGonagall.
He wouldn’t be able to last a week without trying to kill Potter.
OR
Draco doesn't agree with Voldemort's values, or his parents' decision to follow him. After fleeing from his home, he is sent to live with Harry Potter and his godfather.

Going back to the last year of Hogwarts was confirmation that they would never have a single normal year there as long as Potter was present. However, unlike previous years, most of the students were more than willing to make life easier for the Saviour of the World, even if he himself had no more hope, even if there was no hope in his green eyes.
The problem is that Harry was slowly discovering that a new war was approaching and that Voldemort would seem like a petulant teenager next to what he would soon have to face. And all because, supposedly, his and Draco Malfoy's child would be the beginning of a bloodline that would at some point result in a new saviour of the world.
But, first of all, what do you mean he was fathering Draco Malfoy's child without ever having even kissed the arrogant Slytherin?
And how, in the name of all magical entities, did this all start with Snape's daughter showing up unannounced in the Great Hall?
