Then the power goes out — and if there’s one thing he dreads more than facing Mike, it’s the cold.

Seven nights in which Mike and Will have to sleep in the same bed, even though they’re barely friends anymore.

Summary
It’s not that Mike isn’t strong enough to open the door, it’s that Will won't let him. He won't let Mike in.
Will, please. He places both hands in front of him and rests his forehead against the door, tired. It’s just me.
And what was he asking of Will, really? To open himself up. To show Mike every part of himself, even the parts he hates the most—especially the parts he hates the most—and hope that Mike will still be there after. It was selfish, really. Mike knows he keeps things hidden from Will, from himself, from everyone; that’s how Vecna had gotten to him in the first place. And here he is, asking Will to be the selfless one, one last time.
I’ll stay, Mike promises. You know I’ll stay, because Will has to know Mike doesn’t belong anywhere else.

Summary
There's a strange, unfamiliar feeling that lingers in the air between them, with no way of knowing if it's shared. It almost feels like some kind of rift, forcing them apart and then back together.
No – it's something more… real. More tangible.
More terrifying."Hey, um… Mike?"
Will’s voice is distant, muffled by their backs turned to each other. There’s a shuffle of blankets as his weight shifts, but Mike doesn’t turn to face him.
"Yeah?"
"...Were you lying?"
Silence.
"...Mike?"
Following the ending of S5 vol 1., Mike and Will navigate their feelings for each other, dangerous misunderstandings, an ultimately manipulated story, and, unknowingly, how to break their curse when it inevitably all comes down to them to save the world -- and each other.
**this fic IS byler, but it's written into the story in a realistic way that makes the story and especially mike's character make much more sense. him, will, and especially el, deserved so much better.
plot holes and (most) of our grievances will be fixed in this story.
stay tuned, this is something i plan to finish :)Bookmarked by Trulove81

Summary
“You saved me, Will” he whispered. Will looked up at him, their eyes meeting. His eyes…Mike figured he could drown in those eyes and still never get enough of them.
Will was so close to him. Their faces were only inches from each other, if he leaned forward any closer they would touch. And oh how he wanted to. It wouldn’t be hard. To bring Will’s lips to his. It would be so easy.
Mike was so lost in this idea, that he didn’t notice the vines creeping towards them. He didn’t notice it snaking around Will’s ankle. He didn’t see the way it moved up to his back, settling just near the center of the boy’s stomach.
----------------------------------------------
When Will Byers is killed just moments after unlocking his powers, Mike's world is destroyed.
But when he finds out there's a chance Will might still be alive, he knows he has to do something about it.
He knows he has to save the only person he's ever truly loved
AKA a vol 2/finale rewrite with Byler endgame (and lots of other adventures along the way)
