The gorgeous girl strutted past them without a single glance, like she was totally oblivious to how much the world seemed to want her. The girl who had spoken to her followed the other girls down the hallway with her gaze. An intense wave of dislike seemed to emanate from her.

An idiotic, unthinkably painful decision, but a path forward, nonetheless.
She needs to become better at physical combat, fast.
And, fortunately or unfortunately, she has recently made a tentative 'truce' with an obnoxious yet admittedly adept Gith Warrior who for some ungodly reason seems to always erect her tent right across from her own.
Well. Let's see if Githyanki can be trusted on their word. Or, even better...coerced into a mutually beneficial arrangement. She's certain there's something she could offer the Gith. Twist to her advantage. If this could also make Lae'zel more bearable, all the better for her.
Lady of Sorrows guide her. How badly could this go?

Summary
Temporarily washed out of her gith military academy after a series of fights, Lae'zel accepts a 'voluntary' transfer to the nearby public high school, there she encounters what seems like the same story told in different tongues, and again ends up a pariah, with one difference. As a social outcast herself, Shadowheart finds herself strangely drawn to the new girl who seems to carry the same bitter loneliness she does.
