Summary
AU where Fiddleford never made the memory gun. And because of that, he never forgot the horrors of the Portal. Never went home.
He returned to Ford months after abandoning the project. A series of nightmares bringing him back, if only to ensure the project hadn't been successful in his absence.
But not only have some of his worst nightmares come to pass, but he's going to have new ones after interacting with Bill firsthand.

“You can’t enter my mind, so you’re trying to find another way in, huh?” The human says with a dry laugh, his fingers unconsciously reaching forward to trace the interesting patterns of Bill’s cracked surface. It splinters and shines from within, his finger following its shape as it travels the expanse of Bill’s surface.
Bill, however, can’t fucking breathe. He doesn’t dare move as Ford’s eyes squint, looking over the damage left on Bill’s form. He feels the press of fingers dipping into cracks, the clefts of his bricks perspiring the longer he’s touched. He tries to keep his body still, but he must have reacted because Ford’s moving away. The polygon shudders at the loss, his shoulders dropping from their tense position.
