Summary
Keith and Lance get stung by one of two bugs: either a mostly-harmless lovebug, or a bug whose venom has no symptoms until sting victims drop dead fourteen hours later. When they insist they feel no different after being stung, the entire team assumes Keith and Lance have fourteen hours left to live. The boys are forced to await their shared fate in quarantine while the rest of the team scrambles to make an antidote in time.

Or alternatively, half a year is a long time to be missing someone. Lance isn’t surprised at all to see Keith there within the confines of his dream.
It’s just a dream, after all.

While he can’t imagine living anywhere else— far too drawn to the magic of the ocean and the beauty in silence— he sometimes wishes that his home was a little less cold and a little less lonely.

Reki tried to avoid fidgeting so as not to give away his mental state, but failed after a full minute had passed and the younger boy hadn't responded.
"Well?" Reki finally caved and looked to see what had Miya so distracted from an arguably very important question, only to find clear green eyes staring back at him. "What?"
Reki's prodding seemed to snap him out of whatever trance he was in because the grin returned for a second time, but this time even wider.
"Shadow owes me so much money."

“I’m learning about important dates in history.”
Kaoru pinches the bridge of his nose. For once, Kaoru wishes Kojiro would divert this attention to his fangirls, instead.
“Really,” he mutters out when he feels Kojiro’s expectant gaze.
“You wanna be one of them?”
Kaoru despises himself for the way his heart skips a beat when the meaning sinks in. Not for the first time, he’s grateful that his outfit for S masks the better half of his face.
In an almost uncannily similar way to the first time Kojiro had pulled out such a line, an energetic “Joe!” turns Kojiro’s attention away. With a wave and a wink, he skates away, leaving Kaoru fuming.
“Carla.”
“Yes, Master.”
“...what was that?”
Kaoru doesn’t really know why he’s asking again. Maybe it’s because a part of him thinks he’ll find comfort in the reassurance that Kojiro’s actions are 100%, entirely irrational and unpredictable.
Carla glows. “There is a 96% chance that Joe the imbecile is flirting with you.”
This time, it is his own skateboard on the receiving end of Kaoru’s stunned stare.

Alex hesitated, glancing over his shoulder one last time. Then, in a dramatic whisper, he said, “I’m fake-dating Henry Fox.”
Nora blinked. Once. Twice.
