“Forgive me for asking, Geralt,” Yennefer murmurs as Geralt joins her gaze to the horizon, looking away because that's what they always did best. “But that’s mourning jewelry for Jaskier, isn't it? His hair.”
Mourning jewellry it would look like, had Geralt been a better man; but he is Geralt of Rivia, Jaskier’s Witcher, and he wants to curse whatever deemed it acceptable that Jaskier would die young, so he made it anything but. The shame of it makes him swallow acid, sinking with it. “Yes.”
A bout of silence. Yennefer doesn’t say anything for a moment, heart not stuttering, not smelling of pity or jealousy or anger or anything as foul as passion. She’s silently considering, neck muscles tensing for a moment, and Geralt does with them. When she speaks again, her tone is alien, trying to be gentle because she struggles to be soft. Like him. “He was the love of your life.”
It doesn’t take Geralt long to say yes.
(Or, Jaskier dies, Geralt is left in the crater of what Jaskier left behind and doesn’t cope well. At all. He probably should’ve given Jaskier’s grave a second glance, though.)

Now he’s found Shen Yuan again, he is not going to let him go – not since the world has taught him how tightly you have to hold onto what you want.
Shang Qinghua would like less of a front row seat to this bizarre bridenapping, actually. How the hell has this NPC derailed his plot so badly??

Lambert doesn’t like being touched.
He has trained himself over decades to tolerate contact with his brothers, but anyone else gets sharp words, or even sharper (and occasionally poisoned) blades.
Then Geralt says he’s bringing his godsdamned handsy bard to Kaer Morhen, and Lambert’s sure that even with ample forewarning, accidental touching is inevitable. It’s going to make the winter feel miserably long, and Lambert knows for a fact that he’s going to hate every second of it.
He has no idea what to do when he’s wrong.

Summary
It’s hard, at times, to keep playing at ignorance when the intrepid little moron dumps out the entire bundle of his sleek, downy-soft pelt in search of a new quill, but if he isn’t going to bring it up, Geralt’s certainly not going to pry, even though he does have to prompt the bard surreptitiously more than a few times when the flighty little pest evidently forgets all about his pelt and moves to happily trot along on his way, his freedom left behind in the dust. It’s a fine line Geralt walks, playing dumb while hyper-aware of the situation, but he manages to hold his peace and remain silent even when he wants to scold the selkie to be fucking careful. The bard babbles along at length throughout the day enough without prompting; gods forfend Geralt give him any sign of encouragement for more.
Still, despite Geralt’s best efforts, he finds that the selkie–who has chosen Jaskier as his name of all things–is growing on him.
It is, in a few words, fucking obnoxious.
(Jaskier is a selkie who is absolutely HORRIFIC at keeping up with his pelt) (lucky, then, that he has a witcher to do it for him)

Which he wholeheartedly agrees with! What the hell is wrong with his System?!
And more than that, why are both of the Shens, teenager and man, arguing over him?
Or in other words, I got the brain rot from Sareyen from their Wu Wanzi(Shen Yuan) as an actual shizun for Shen Jiu and this started literally on chapter 4 of me reading. But hey, they seem more than happy about this and my hands itch to write so without further ado, enjoy :]
