She didn’t understand why that was so profound, but…it made her feel a little warm and fuzzy. Mister J never did that. Then again, he knew what was best for her – even if it meant missing her favorite movie sometimes."

But things don't always work out the way we want them to and tonight he, The Shining Knight and S.T.R.I.P.E are up to their ears in it. Still, they're professionals. They can deal with a few unwelcome circumstances. Or at least they could have if Justin hadn't suddenly switched sides.

Staring down the barrel of that pretty Colt and looking up into those sharp blue eyes, Floyd had known--instinctively and right down to his DNA--that if it had come to it, Vigilante would have beat him to the trigger.
And now he can't stop thinking about it. Because for the first time, in a long time, he thinks he might have found someone who can give him the exit he deserves.
