Summary
The distance between where you are, and where you used to be aches. Whenever he remembers harvest festivals from his tween years, an overwhelming melancholy curls inside his chest like smoke. It makes itself home, makes each breath difficult. The innocence of those days can never be found again; in some ways, though, Sam does not wish to return to them. Perhaps that space in between which he inhabits is what hurts so much—to be caught in between the past and the present.
