Lucifer frowned, confused.
“I mean… Yes? I still mix their names some times because my brain is funny like that, but otherwise I’m good.”
“You mean to tell me you cannot remember what you had for lunch yesterday, but you remember in detail faces you haven’t seen in millennia?”
“Well… You know how my brain works, Al” he chuckled. “Besides, I’m not exactly like you humans, in the sense of memory I’m not that… limited? I guess that would be the best way to explain it, yeah.”
The next statement coming out from the sinner’s mouth was made in a low —almost ashamed— voice, gaze fixed on Lucifer’s chest rather than looking straight at him.
“I… cannot remember my mother like that.”

Alastor cannot remember his mother's features in detail and Lucifer offers to help with an accurate portrait (and a lot of teamwork). Oh, and he learns about creole culture in the process!

In a world where humans receive their soulmate's lost items, Alastor grows up surrounded by rubber ducks. They were fun when he was five, but, as he grows up, he understandably becomes weary of them and the many, many more items his forgetful soulmate can't seem to stop losing.
Lucifer doesn't receive as many items, but they sure take a turn when his soulmate finds his real vocation. He knows his soulmate needs to sin in order to meet him in Hell, but did it have to be murder?
It takes them a lifetime to meet, but, until then, they learn what they can about the other through what they inadvertently, or perhaps purposefully, lose.

Summary
Lucifer wakes in a bed he’s never seen before, wrapped in red covers. A gentle series of piano chords plays in the distance, leading to vocals about autumn and new love.
At last, he notices them—wiry arms covering his midsection. Sharp, clawed hands have slipped underneath his shirt and gently press against his stomach.
Lucifer shifts, trying to catch a glimpse of the other’s face, but they hug his torso tightly. The jazz song playing warbles into static. When the other refuses to budge, he relents, chases the other source of warmth in his bed, and buries his head into their fluffy chest.
Glee pirouettes along his skin, traveling through his fingertips and across his heart, as the sin succumbs to that long-standing ache. He can’t remember the last time he got to be so close to someone, to even be allowed the chance to hold someone and be held in turn.
In fact, he—Lucifer groans.
He can’t remember much of anything at the moment.

It was beautiful. The most perfect place Alastor could possibly imagine, and he doubted there was anything on Earth that could ever meet its splendour. He didn’t need to be told where he was, though he might venture to ask how he’d gotten here; but that question could wait, for he was too lost in admiring his surroundings.
The sky was a perfect cerulean blue, with pink tinging the horizon and strands of gold seemingly brushing over what few clouds marred its stunning expanse. Pleasantly white, puffy things, all of them sitting low enough that their undersides reflected the pink glow of the setting sun, and Alastor was only sorry he seemingly hadn’t arrived in time to see the sun itself.
It had been too long.

A minor epidemic is going around Pentagram City from one of the other Rings, getting the weakest of the sinners sick with cold symptoms like they would’ve experienced when they were still alive. Nothing that anybody at the Hotel needed to worry about, though; after all, Alastor wasn’t weak, his staff was just a little broken, there’s a difference.
When he was proven wrong, his new relationship with the King of Hell proves to be just as strong of a bond as he had with his dear maman. Love isn’t just in the things we say, but the care we show.
