The pressures of being captain are beginning to weigh on Stede. Izzy pushes him to embrace the role, and the power and authority that it brings.
Several months later, the Revenge docks at the rebuilding Republic of Pirates. Jack runs into Izzy in a bar, finding him missing a leg and with Edward nowhere in sight. Naturally he has some concerns, but after spending the evening with Izzy, he learns that far more has changed than he'd realised.

An Omega’s emotional and material needs must be met before they can present. They must want for nothing, know no scarcity, and (most importantly of all) feel safe.
Perhaps Stede should have considered this before he reclaimed captaincy of the Revenge and helped Ed lay the Kraken to rest – especially since, six months later, one very bewildered Israel Hands goes into the first heat of his life.

Modern AU. Lucius feels kind of bad about helping to keep his boss's relationship with Ed Teach a secret from Ed's partner - Izzy. But hey, he was just doing his job, right? Ed was the one cheating. And at least Lucius remembered to send a gift for Izzy's birthday.
But, as Stede's just fired him after he spent months planning his wedding... it's now his life's mission to ruin said wedding - with Izzy's help, of course.

Summary
I got the lovely prompt: "Izzy teaches Lucius the basics of pirating and gets embarrassedly turned on seeing that while Lucius was away he got scarily competent at doing pirate work."
This is my attempt at a fix-it of sorts post season 2. As such, it touches on darker canon topics, particularly for Lucius and Izzy. I feel like they weren't given the chance to properly process or start to heal from things, and I wanted to give them that chance. This story doesn't go into too much detail, particularly about Lucius's trauma, but that trauma is present.
I also poke a fair bit of light-hearted fun at some of the season 2 canon I find particularly ridiculous, so if that's not your cup of tea it might be best to avoid this one! And Ed and Stede are barely mentioned here, but when they are mentioned it's not hugely flattering.
The story features an Izzy who is determined to do his best by his new crew, a Lucius who still has some issues to work out, much polyamory, an epic Izzy/Aunty friendship, a worried because he cares Roach, a surprising amount of Izzy and Black Pete mutual admiration, disabled characters actually talking to each other, occasionally BAMF-adjacent Lucius, and a future full of possibility.
