Apparently, in the wizarding world, having a predestined soulmate is completely normal.
Honestly, Harry really shouldn’t be surprised anymore; after all, he’s been living almost nine years in the world of witches and wizards, having come across his fair share of crazy both during his years at Hogwarts and afterwards in his job as an Auror. And so, when his twentieth birthday arrives and a single letter appears on his right wrist, it honestly shouldn’t affect him so.
Meanwhile, Draco Malfoy is busy getting his life back on track. That scrunched nose look of disgust on Evangeline’s face had cracked open an old wound in Darrow’s chest the first time he saw it. He still remembered a similar look on another blonde haired child from over a decade ago. Aedion, of course, had less tact when expressing his distaste for vegetables as a child than Evangeline did, but it seemed both of them hated eating their carrots, peas and green beans.
How ridiculous was it for him to feel so guilty all of a sudden?
Twelve years, two wars, thousands of deaths, a new monarch and all of sudden the Great Lord Darrow, rebel leader and advisor to the queen was suddenly doubting himself? Over fucking vegtables?

Summary
He could feel their attention on him, like an incessant buzzing under his skin, constantly reminding him of all the reasons why the Cadre were concerned. Sure, Aedion understood their worries, it was the first time he was visiting Adarlan in over two years. Without Aelin or his Bane by his side no less, which he could admit left him feeling a little unguarded.
Not that he would ever admit it.
But this meeting was important for diplomacy and showing their two people that peace was still their best option. So Aedion kept a tight leash on his nerves and checked over the box containing his gift one last time.
