Wolfwood stopped breathing completely, chest burning and lungs screaming for air, but he just couldn’t get himself to move.
Faintly, he heard Vash babbling to himself, but all of it was just buzzing in his ears now.

His wide eyes darted to Vash.

Here’s the thing: Vash Saverem is broke. Not just poor — oh, no. He’s out-on-the-street broke. He’s three eviction notices down and the last one was printed on pink paper. Fired from two jobs within a week flavor of broke. He hasn’t eaten since yesterday morning when he inhaled a granola bar and had to drink directly from the tap to keep from choking.
So, when he got said pink-papered eviction notice, Vash knew he couldn’t be picky about his employment anymore. When he initially went job searching, all his hope had spiraled down the drain with every page he sifted through. References, high school diploma, good standing, experience… Every single one listed something that Vash simply didn’t have. By the time he got to the fifteenth page, all the listings had been for such specific types of people that it was no wonder they weren’t getting snapped up immediately. Contractors and freelancers and people with connections that Vash could never even hope to have. All except for one:

With just one action, Vash is able to convince Nai to join him.
There wasn't much out there for them outside of weeping sisters and humans chasing their bounties, but when met with a reporter they simply can't ignore, their years of solitude are up. And after a century and a half of running, the twins are forced to confront things they wish stayed dead. Hopefully, they can keep the innocent out of it this time.
