    Summary

Objectively, he knows that Alhaitham has a lot on his plate.
A few weeks have passed and the Akademiya have yet to find a proper candidate to become the Sages, let alone to fill the Great Sage’s seat.
    But still.
It's a crime to ignore him like this.
Especially when there are omegas who are clearly trying to win his alpha’s other… favor. He has to amp up his effort to seduce Alhaitham so he will properly pay attention to him again.
But of course, it’s not that easy. (it’s so damn hard)

    .

“I’m tempted to write my name on your stupid abs.”
“And yet that doesn’t stop you from worshiping said abs.” Alhaitham responds in tandem.

    Summary

“Thank you,” Kaveh repeated. And then, clearing his throat, “I apologise for the indiscretion, but just so I don’t misunderstand things and make a fool of myself, are you and Sir Flins a couple?”

Illuga turned a bright shade of pink, and his eyes scurried away towards the floor. “Ah— No offence taken, but no. What… what gave you that impression?”

Alhaitham snorted. Kaveh smacked him from under the table.

    “Oh, my mistake then.”

“He was very obviously flirting with you,” Alhaitham added. “But it seems that might just be his personality.”

    Summary

Kaveh, if asked, doesn’t remember the night he left, or the days leading up to it.

He’ll say it was a blur of emotion, of tears, of adrenaline, and that he can’t quite remember the words that were spat between the two of them.

It’s a lie, of course. Kaveh has always had a fantastic memory, and the image of Alhaitham’s stricken face as he watches Kaveh leave will stick with him for a long time. Kaveh remembers the words he said, because there were only two, and they had been the only two spoken in days between them.

“Goodbye, Alhaitham,” he’d whispered to the wall, unable to bear looking at Alhaitham when he had that look on his face.

And then, Kaveh had left, and he hasn’t looked back.

Kaveh moves out of Alhaitham's house.

    Summary

The end, as Alhaitham had not expected, came quietly.
Of course, there was all the tears and the screaming that came before, but Alhaitham will always remember the quiet afterwards more.
Kaveh, standing in the doorway of what was once their home, staring at the wall with glistening eyes as he tells Alhaitham farewell for the last time. It was the first word Kaveh had said to Alhaitham in days, and it would be the last for many to come.

Kaveh and Alhaitham do not speak for a year after Kaveh moves out.

Don’t forget to eat your lunch, Alhaitham! I’ll throw out all your books if you dont! - Kaveh

Alhaitham stares at the note. It’s still stuck on the lunchbox Kaveh uses for him. His handwriting is beautiful still, because there was no way Kaveh would be caught dead with hideous handwriting. It was a recent note Kaveh left, and Alhaitham doesn’t have the heart to throw it out. So he leaves it stuck on the cabinet.

He leaves it with all the other notes he’s been keeping since Kaveh moved out.

I’m making falafel tonight, so you better come home.

I spent a lot of time on this, so you better appreciate it.

Come home early tonight, I’m planning on making desserts.

    Take care of yourself.
