"C'mon man, I know you aren't doing shit right now," Shane heard loud footsteps walking towards the living room area. Fuck Fuck Fuck. He stood up and started looking around for an escape. Just as he was about to make a break for it he heard, "Uh..." and spun around to face a very stunned Cliff Marlow. Fuck.
Shane froze. Oh god, Oh fuck. It seemed to be the only thing his brain could think right now.
Marlow looked at him, mouth open. He then looked at Rozanov, who had followed right behind him - his eyes wide and jaw clenched, and looked back to Shane.
"...you guys are friends??"
Friends. Right. Because rivals secretly being friends made a hell of a lot more sense than rivals secretly fucking.

He used to visit his mother all the time when he was in Moscow for the off-season. He’d take bouquets of marigolds and sunflowers, and he’d decorate her grave with them to try and brighten it up. He’d even placed a little solar powered lantern there for nighttime, so she wouldn’t feel so frightened of the dark.
It’s silly, probably. He knows she isn’t really there; knows that nothing is left of her but bones, by now. But still. Ilya had left it there anyway, just in case.
He’ll never get to visit his mama’s grave again.
