Eddie preferred the insults, actually. There was honesty there. A walking cliche of a high school jock shoving him into a locker and calling him a freak was better than Mrs. Beverly fucking Walker from two trailers down muttering about the youth of today when she saw him stumble home drunk and high at 5 in the morning or when she gave pointed suggestions to Eddie's uncle Wayne on how the military would probably be the best way to straighten him out a bit, as if they didn't all live in the same fucking shitholeOr: 5 times Eddie came out to someone, and 1 time someone came out to him.

[Time passes oddly. Between one second and the next, Sokka has the Fire Lord pinned to the wall with his hands around the bastard’s throat. Golden eyes (one gold eye, his mind whispers) widen in shock.
“Sokka?” he chokes out. And then he smiles.
What the fuck?
“Sokka, I—”
Sokka slams his head against the wall, once, twice, and the smile wipes off his face. Good.
“What,” Sokka bites out, “have you done to my sister?”]

Jason makes the mistake of thinking that he can get away with stealing the tires from a black Jeep parked in an alley. But the men in the suits had been gone for ages and he hadn't had a decent meal in god knows how long. How could he possibly have resisted?
Well, if he had known that he'd get marched into the Gotham police station in handcuffs and left in an interrogation room, he probably would have reconsidered. But, it ends well enough: he helps solve a murder, isn't charged with a felony, and he gets the girl -- well, if by getting the girl you mean being adopted by a very smitten Agent Emily Prentiss, then sure, Jason gets the girl.
Honestly, it was probably the best mistake he'd ever made.
