The Fourth of July shift was another shift of nightmares, Langdon was back, Dennis was moving out, Robby was leaving, the new attending starting out her day saying she would have to repeat her R2 year if she didn't get her charting under control, and then raincheck happened. Trinity was done, and going out to the bar with Mel helped her forget about it all, even if it was just for a few hours. July fifth started with a text from Yolanda wanting to talk, and that only lit a fire inside Trinity. Instead of answering, she went to the open hours at her local gymnastic gym to let off some steam. While trying a tricky dismount from the balance beam, something goes wrong and Trinity ends up in the Pitt as a patient, only to be tended to by Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi.

Summary
Attending surgeon Emery Walsh returns from vacation to find that PTMC's emergency department has a brand new attending physician: charismatic, cooperative, and with a voice sweet like honey that Emery can't seem to get out of her mind, no matter how much she despises sweet things. She finds herself drifting towards the ED before and after her shift, if just to catch a short conversation with the new attending.
Baran Al-Hashimi is trying to carve her place in the emergency department as a reliable and caring attending, which means cooperation with all of the staff. Though everyone warns her that night shift's complex attending surgeon is a bit angry and tough to handle, Baran can't help but look forward to seeing her for the few minutes she can every day. And Baran just can't believe what everyone says about Emery, because Emery is as pleasant as ever around Baran.
