Taehyung nodded. He bit his lip. “Hyung, you have to try to talk him out of it.” Taehyung flapped his hands nervously. “It’s his first tattoo. He doesn’t have a very high pain tolerance. And he’s under a lot of emotional stress right now. I’m afraid he’ll regret doing this when he’s thinking clearly.”

Summary
Namjoon feels the weight of decision heavy on his shoulders as he waits and a part of him is alight in excitement over the fact that he can make a decision at all. After ten years of being controlled, the options that are in his grasp make him a bit heady. Or it would, if the consequences of his decisions weren't so dangerously severe.
He could continue to do this job for his master, he could betray the boys who were once so absolutely the best things in his life, topple their entire power hold over Umbra. He was powerful enough, skilled enough to do it.
Or... he could take this opportunity to grasp his freedom, he could use all of his skills, intelligence, and will to finally regain control over his own body and future. He might fail, and possibly lose what was left of his life in the process.
'But' Namjoon thinks, his path decided as he walks out of the room, 'At least it's my choice.'
