Wreck only wanted to come over to say a proper goodbye to Nice. He just needed Lin Ling to sit there. He didn't want him to talk. But it felt cruel to say nothing when Wreck could have done the same with that ridiculous statue that took up the center of the room. He wanted a connection with a real person—with Nice.

Hajime blinks twice. He turns his head slowly, surveying the room. Togami has a pair of night vision goggles in his hand and he frowns down at them.
“Defective. As expected of anything not manufactured by the Togami Group.” He says, disgusted.
Owari’s nose twitches. “I smell blood.”
Hajime lifts the tablecloth.
Komaeda’s body lays beneath the table, face down, in a pool of blood. His face, even in death, is twisted into a despairing grin.
“I guess you got what you wanted,” Hajime murmurs under the screaming, reaching out to gently close the eyelids over that pale fanatical gaze.

Hajime is almost expecting it, the first time Komaeda dies. The next ones are a little harder.

Book 1: Link died facing Calamity Ganon. Twice. The first was when he was a knight of the princess, and the second was as a traveler in a vast untamed land. With Zelda and the Champions of Old as ghosts to aid him, he will rebuild Hyrule as a powerful kingdom with his own two hands. This time, he wouldn't fail. He would at least make sure the people he cared about would be okay.
Book 2: Hyrule was stable. The kingdom was growing and thriving and political relations were peaceful—for the most part. Link was finally starting to settle into his role as Champion, and things were running smoothly. So of course, that was when another Journey wandered out of the mists of the Lost Woods in the form of eight heroes from across time. He knew this wasn't something he could refuse, but he was more than hesitant about leaving his newly reestablished kingdom. He also knew he couldn't tell these heroes the truth—that he was already dead.
