She couldn't help but worry about him.
The man she hated.
Once hated....Had Draco deserved the curse Harry had inflicted upon him in the bathroom yesterday.
Deep down she knew the answer was no.And her heart was screaming at her to go visit Malfoy in the hospital wing. She needed to see for herself that he was ok.
Hermione shook her head as she tried to dispel her thoughts, her eyes following the flickering warm flame coming from the large fireplace in front of her.'You ok Hermione?' Ginny asked suddenly, snapping Hermione out of her trance.
Hermione glanced up at her friend, forcing a quick, small smile.
More memories from last night replayed in her mind….The cold water, Draco's blood covered shirt, the quietest 'Granger' that escaped his lips as they locked eyes in fear replayed in her mind once more.
'I'm fine Gin, just tired.' was all Hermione could say as she stood from her spot in front of the fireplace, knowing full well where she would be headed come later this evening once the entire Gryffindor common room was asleep.

“Tell me!” Draco said, cocking his head as he slowly came a few steps closer, wand drawn, ready to fight her if need be, “To what exactly do I owe the pleasure of your company on my estate? Came to gloat?”
“I…” Hermione took a step away from him, “I was wondering if I could see the drawing room.”
“Why?”
“To get used to it.”
“Why do you need to get used to my drawing room? Plan to set camp? Tell me, why the fuck are you really here?”
She shrugged and chose honesty, “I’m here because I have nightmares of this place. Because I dream of it weekly and I’m so tired of it. I want to get it out of my system.”
“Oh? Out of your system?” he asked cynically, “Well if it’s that easy. Go ahead. After you!”
Invitingly, he gestured to the Manor behind him. -

Angel knows that he’s the one making this weird. He’s fallen in love with his best friend, and now over analyzes every little interaction between them. Husk doesn’t return the feelings, and it’s very clear, so why would Angel even bring it up? He refuses to get hurt, so he deludes himself with fantasies and spends every possible second with Husk, willfully getting dragged deeper into the hellscape that is unrequited love.
Of course, Husk feels exactly the same way, and goes out of his way to prove it without actually saying anything, going so far as to give Angel his life back.

These two are really stupid, like Really Stupid, and it’s gonna take a damn good amount of time for them to get over themselves and just kiss already. Once they do though? It’s all they’ve ever wanted, and it’s a shame that the hotel walls are so thin.
