Summary
I've known my heat would be coming ever since I'd gone for my yearly physical and my physician had refused to refill my suppressants. He'd thrown words around like "overdue" and "heatsick." Nobody seems to care that I've been on suppressants for years and that I've always ridden out my heats on my own.
In order to convince his insurance company to refill his suppressant prescription, Grace has to prove that he's at least trying to handle his heats without them. He hires an alpha from a rent-a-mate service, fully intending to send them away after they arrive. (See look, he tired!) Only, when the alpha arrives, Grace lets him inside, and then lets him do far more.
Or
Grace is an omega in heat, and Rocky's the alpha there to take care of him. They fuck about it.

Honestly, one of my favorites PHM fanfics. It's such a fun premise and you can't tell me it isn't canon /j. I reccomend to read it if you are interested in eridians as a species. The descriptions of Ryland trying to make sense of Rocky's body is amazing, and reading about them trying to not hurt each other's bodies is so fun. The author thought about both characters and their bodies and what funtions would confuse eachother.
10/10 I love it

Kabru’s second try at a smile was genuine. Almost dopey at the unadulterated joy on Laios’ face. This was what Kabru was trying to do, the thing that made all his prior foolishness worthwhile. If he could give Laios this happiness, he would put up with all the embarrassment in the world. And wasn’t that a thought.
“I really am glad. I know all of the nuances can be confusing and frustrating, but it’s the sheer complexity of the way people act that’s fascinating to me. I think it’s very rewarding to work through the puzzle in order to see the bigger picture. Maybe in time you could feel the same way,” Kabru spoke softly, feeling oddly buoyant.
“I’d like that, I think,” Laios returned a dopey smile of his own.
