The Sea God had only ever had one demigod daughter. Sons he had aplenty, immortal daughters came up quite a lot. But a daughter by a mortal? That was as rarer than he and his brothers being in accordance with one another. Poseidon had one daughter and then Neptune had one but they shared the same soul, the same name. All his children were important to him, beloved by him, but she was utterly precious for her rarity.
And then she died, tragically and horribly just as he had consented to her marriage to Apollo, just as he was about to keep her with him forever. The seas raged and plagues devastated the world both times. And then she returned a third time at the worst possible time, a prophecy foretelling destruction and the existence of his demigod children all but outlawed.
Rhea was an old soul who was sometimes confused. Was she in Manhattan? Ithaca? Somewhere within the Roman Empire? In the end, it didn’t matter. What mattered was seeing the great prophecies through and finding peace.

Carefully, she opened it. A piece of paper was neatly folded inside, as well as a crushed blue rose. She opened the paper and read:

Poseidon seems downcast, his eyes no longer staring deep into his soul, instead down at the concrete, while his fingers fiddle with the loose strands of his backpack.
There’s something off about his brother. Zeus isn’t sure how he didn’t notice before. He’s missing his charisma as well as other important characteristics from his personality. And, well, he could blame it on his brother trying—and utterly, completely failing (because Zeus will never admit that Poseidon is better than him at something)—to cheer him up.
But the most concerning thing of all is the lack of godly aura surrounding him.

Allison wipes her fingers on her towel, ignoring how the sunscreen smears across the fabric to reach for her notepad. Her knuckles are white from the force of her grip and Klaus frowns in concern.
"Klaus..." Vanya chokes out, eyes suspicously shiny. "...your chest."
Klaus tilts his head to the side. "What?"
"The scars," Five takes pity on him and solves the mystery. "Dumbass," he adds on a beat too late.
"Oh," he says, glancing down at the faint pales lines carved into his skin. Allison lays a hand onto his upper arm, rubbing soothing circles with her thumb, prompting him to glance up. "What about them?"
His sisters flinch at his causal tone, sharing a disbelieving glance.
