Summary
Elizabeth Bennet expects her visit to Pemberley to last only an afternoon.
An unexpected meeting with Mr Darcy is awkward enough. But when one of Darcy’s young spaniels escapes and startles the Gardiners’ horses, their carriage overturns before they have even left the estate.
With Mr Gardiner too badly injured to travel, Elizabeth and her relations must remain at Pemberley until he recovers.
A few hours in Mr Darcy’s company had already begun to change Elizabeth’s opinion of him. Several days beneath the same roof may change rather more.

Summary

Of the speech, Bruce recognized his name and maybe Alfred’s. It made it feel like something was clawing inside his chest, knowing that he couldn’t communicate properly with this child living in his pool.
