Summary
Not that Kokichi resents her for that. It’d be easy to, seeing Rantaro’s persistent migraines and the way that Kaito sometimes wakes up screaming her name, but Kaede is just as much of a victim as the rest of them, and at least she’s never tried to shy away from the hurt she caused. It’s the opposite if anything. Kokichi tried once to tell her she should forgive herself, and that was the last time she sought him out.
Until now, at least. But Kaede clearly didn’t do that of her own accord, given the former detective standing in front of her. Irritatingly, Shuichi doesn’t respond to Kokichi’s jab, merely offering a small, almost sheepish smile.
“We aren’t here to interrogate you, Ouma-kun,” Shuichi says. He shifts his weight, a hand moving to brush his hair out of his face. “We were just, ah. I wanted to know what your plans were, for once we’ve left this place.”
Kokichi leans back, flattening his palms against the floor with his papers lying loose across his lap. “Sounds like an interrogation to me!”
“Well, that isn’t how I’d meant it.” Shuichi pouts too, a perfect mirror of Kaede’s.

Summary
The sky is a pale, desaturated pre-dawn blue. The moon is crescent-shaped. Kaito would be able to tell him if it was waxing or waning, but Shuichi can’t actually tell. It’s pretty, though. He cups his hands over his mouth and breathes warm air against them, shivering as it spreads goosebumps down his arms. The gesture doesn’t help so much, but Shuichi is pretty sure that’s less a product of the actual cold and more because of his dream.
It’s frustrating that this never gets any easier, and worse that Shuichi knows Kaito and Kokichi will wake up if he’s out of bed for too long. The two of them sleep better with him there, always struggle getting back to sleep without him. In fairness to their dependence, Shuichi is the same way. It’s been years, but he still needs the two of them pressed against his chest and back, the constant tactile reassurance of the fact that neither of them dead, that Kokichi isn’t smashed under a hydraulic press and Kaito hasn’t coughed up a lung.
It’d be nice to have them here now, but Shuichi doesn’t want to wake them on a rare night of peaceful sleep, particularly not when Kokichi was up so late helping him research.

Well, Ouma was kind of joking. But he wasn’t kidding that he can’t die like this. Unless Amami gets a silver tooth, the worst that’ll happen is that Ouma passes out for a while and then wakes up once his blood has sufficiently replenished itself. Besides, no matter how hungry Amami lets himself get, he’s never taken more than Ouma has offered. He rarely even takes the full amount. So Ouma isn’t scared of this—and admittedly, though he understands the person that Amami is, he still fails to understand why Amami continuously refuses to seek him out.
Maybe it’s just hard, to ask someone for something as vital as their blood, even willingly offered. Ouma can’t pretend like he wouldn’t be the same, in Amami’s situation. But it’s real easy to be holy given that he isn’t.
“Come on,” Ouma prods, “you look totally miserable, Amami-chan, and that’s no lie.”

Amami does the same thing as he always does, so Ouma makes sure he's taking care of himself. Simple as that.

But it isn’t Akamatsu or Gokuhara or even Saihara who shows up at Ouma’s door. In fact, nobody shows up at Ouma’s door at all. He opens the door himself and steps out into the hallway, a mask hanging from his wrist, and turns around to lock up, when he hears a thud behind him, and then—
“Ouma?”
It’s a rich, intense voice that Ouma still hears every night when he dreams. His body aches in two places, his upper arm and his back, and still he turns around, something less like fear and more like hope making his breath hitch. He stares hard at Momota, trying to figure out if he’s real, trying to figure out if they’re in the hangar again, and then a flash of green blocks his vision, and he sees that Momota isn’t alone.
“Oh!” Amami Rantaro, elusive, distrustful Amami Rantaro, who died in a matter of days after stupidly promising to end a game that was rigged against him, smiles at Ouma like he’s not a murderer.

Summary
A character, after all, is nothing but a toy for the author and the observers to twist however they wish. It is an object made to receive admiration, a vessel to continue a story, and a tool to be used. Amami fits the part perfectly.
“Well, you’re the same, aren't you?” he had asked her, smile curled a little bit too far. “I’ve lost track of how many grisly deaths you’ve been through.”
“I do it because I love Danganronpa,” Shirogane had shot back. “But you don't love anything.”
Amami shook his head. “You don't love Danganronpa,” he said. “You love anything that will distract you from your own mediocrity.”
Shirogane has only ever wanted to be nothing but fiction. This is precisely why Amami Rantaro had to die.

It’s quaint, in a nauseating sort of way. Polished floors glint from the gleaming honeycomb chandeliers overhead, make him squint. A few vases sprinkled here and there, filling the room with a sickeningly sweet scent – even a waffle-cone headrest framing the silken sheets of a neatly-tucked bed. Outside, the golden sun gleams, the gentle rays of light spilling past curtains that waver in the afternoon breeze.

Summary
The air inside the house wasn't much better. A stifling humidity, it was inescapable. Only difference was there wasn't a sound here, just Osomatsu and the occasional cry of old wood beneath him. With as slow as today's been, Osomatsu isn't even surprised no one's back yet. Had Chibita let him finish eating, Osomatsu would've had this perfectly timed. He probably doesn't have enough time to JO either.
Unless, maybe he does. He could be fast. He ain't called fast-hands for nothing.

Jyushimatsu somehow has it set in his thick skull that he has to be the happy one. He has to be the one who is supposed to be grounded, where his brothers can be a mess – Jyushimatsu thinks he has to be the reliable one. The one with a smile. The one who grins and grins even as his ribs crack and his stomach aches and he’s thrown through a paper door. Even as the love of his life leaves him in the pouring rain. Even as his shitty brothers lay sleeping next to him.
It pisses him off.
(Ichimatsu is a light sleeper, and as the only light sleeper of the family, some responisbilities come with it.)
