Summary
In war, healers are the first to die.
House Skonos stood tall and proud before the Newblood uprising, a noble house that served the highest titles in the land. Their head would heal the king himself, easing wrinkles and gray hairs for all his days. Mother liked to grumble about it in the mirror.
Then came the mutations.
Their sister house, Blonos, was able to flee. As their ability was to heal themselves, they thought they had nothing to fear when the rats came pounding at their door. But one arm was grabbed, then another, the life force draining from their skin. Leechers, they were called. House Carver, they named themselves.
Skonos healed others.
They could not heal themselves.
