Summary
Matthew was sick of living in Alfred's shadow, his own twin brother who would forget he existed in a heartbeat. Matthew's whole life had been spent tucked away behind his warmly beloved brother, soaking up all the warmth so Matthew was left with nothing but bone-deep cold. No matter how hard he tried, he was never enough and never measured up. A lifetime of neglect had taken its toll and left him empty and bitter. When a child is abandoned by a village, he will burn it down just to feel the warmth. He knew it was wrong, but it felt so so good to chase the warmth. Once he started he couldn't stop. He was spiraling into chaos and with each escalation, he couldn't help but feel comfort in the terror he brought.
Or, Matthew unintentionally intentionally becomes a prolific serial killer, unintentionally intentionally disrupting the life of his twin brother and all his friends as he starts on a path of destruction.

Alfred let out a loud, never-ending laugh. His laugh was always so boisterous and confident that it made Matthew feel more nauseated than amused. To him, it felt like a sudden, bright light being flashed right in his eyes. It was too loud, too jagged and it rattled around his head like a persistent, annoying headache—
“Aww, why are you so mad at your big bro?” Alfred exclaimed and tightened his grip just to irritate him further. It reminded Matthew of his childhood, when Alfred would hug him so tightly that it felt like his ribs were being crushed. Alfred was always annoying—constantly snickering or crying too loud, never reading the room nor bothering to do so anyways— “That’s not very nice to say!”
