Summary
Edward had everything a unicorn could want: a forest draped in eternal springtime; animal friends to keep him company; and the clearest, purest pool of water, a mirror in which to admire his own beautiful countenance.
Lost in the loveliness of his perfect home, he pays no attention to the world outside. Until one day, when he overhears two hunters in his forest, and learns that he is the last unicorn in the world. Unable to shake the hunters' words from his mind, and no longer content with his solitary existence, he sets out on a quest to discover what happened to the other unicorns.
He is joined by a bungling magician and an indomitable scribe, whose journeys seem to be curiously intertwined with his own. But whether they will be a help or a hindrance is a mystery.
As Edward draws closer to discovering the fate of the other unicorns, he will face his deepest fears, fight against an ancient evil, and risk losing himself in the process.

Summary
“Where you putting yours?” Ed’s eyes are roaming over Stede as if he’s trying to guess where he might want his tattoo.
Stede rolls up the billowy sleeve of his shirt to show off his right forearm. Oddly, Ed stares for a moment before nodding. “I want it to be where I can see it all the time. A reminder.”
Ed nods again. “I get that. That’s what mine is for too. My dad just died….”
“Mine, too,” Stede replies, sitting up eagerly. “I’m sorry for your loss,” he rushes to add since most people are sad about this sort of thing.
“Nah, my dad was a dick,” Ed says. “Sorry for your loss, though.”
“Um, my dad was a dick, too, actually,” Stede tells him, stifling a giggle. “I want some flowers. He always hated that I loved flowers, thought I was too ‘soft.’ But I’m taking his money and opening a florist stop, so I get the last laugh.”
To Stede’s surprise, Ed looks excited. “A florist shop! Sounds amazing, mate! Good for you.”

Summary
In the spring of 1897, Stede Bonnet hired a rag-tag crew to renovate his family’s long-abandoned estate in Pembrokeshire, Wales. Among this crew was groundskeeper Edward Teach. Eager to stay updated on the project, Stede began a regular correspondence with Ed.
Years later, upon the discovery of their correspondence carefully tucked away in a clothes-stuffed closet of the manor, historians concluded that they were not, in fact, just very good friends.
