“The kinds of questions that friends ask.”
“Friends?”
He nodded. “Weird, huh? Here I was, thinking you and I would never be able to make friends and we have a whole house to choose from.”
“And this is good?”
She let him wrap his arm around her, pulling her into his side without offering any resistance. “Really good. It means there are other people that are on our side. More people to cover our backs.”

Initially written in early 2013, this story was complete until it was obvious that Coulson Lived -- and then one more conversation was needed. Chapter 5 crosses over into Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Have another look at it after you read the story ... :D ETA2: Crazy4Orcas sadly passed away in June 2022 after a two-year-long courageously fought battle with cancer.
