Harry ducked away from the glass and got his writing supplies out. He held the parchment to the wall as he wrote, with a quill this time.
‘I don’t negotiate with terrorists. I’m going back to bed.’
He wiggled it into the corner and left the sight of the window. There was a strangled scream he tried to block out. In bed, he piled his blanket over his ears. Bottom of the line, he needed sleep.
And who was he to intervene? Every damned time he did, the person ended up dead or injured. Cedric, Sirius, and countless other friends had suffered under his supervision.
Harry was done playing saviour.

A year later, Harry uncovered something horrible within himself - a parasite.

Harry looked to Hermione as she took the letter. The communication that passed them was swift and silent. They had been through one war, and if fate brought them another, so mote it be. His pulse was steady, and Harry found that the worry and confusion was fading away, giving rise to a need to take action in the face of this unnamed foe.
The confident look on her face faded as she scanned the official letter quickly. Harry didn’t like the fear that bloomed in her eyes.
She looked up, and Harry wasn’t sure he had heard her properly when she said, “I have to get married.”

Through an accident Hermione is send back in time to 1943 and with all the other options exhausted, she decides to take the destiny of the whole world into her own hands. But facing young Voldemort becomes harder and harder, as she slowly starts to succumb to the temptation of power and the Dark Arts....it's really not smutty, but very much Hermione-centric!

This is an expansive fic that covers years and years of Hermione's travel back in time. The characters are extremely rich and the plot is well thought out. There is so much personal growth for each of the characters featured in this fic and the changes that happen to the timeline are delightful and unexpected.
