Summary
Over the years they'd developed into what Dib would like to call friends. After High School Zim stopped trying to take over the Earth and they slowly were able to built a sort of camaraderie between them. Dib respected Zim's boundaries (he stopped breaking into Zim's house) and he helped the alien with his weird non-doomsday related projects. On Zim's end, Zim tolerated Dib's presence and stopping trying to attack him every time the human turned his back.
Dib knew Zim was probably calling him over to look at some new project he had, it didn't matter to the alien that it was freezing outside and that it was X-mas eve. Though Dib didn't mind, there were worse ways to spend the holiday.
Zim had finally completed his greatest project and with this he would finally be able to reach the height he knew he deserved. But unknown to the small Irken, there were consequences to becoming a Taller.

Summary
Bad nights happen sometimes. That's normal, Dib's been through them before. The easiest solution to fight the nightmares is to avoid them completely. Simply don't sleep. Easier to do when you have a distraction, especially if it's in the form of an alien Invader who's got this brilliant idea to kidnap you, fly you out to the middle of the solar system and not be entirely truthful in his reasoning for it.
Dib is exhausted, Zim is being vague and Gir is currently chewing on some questionable objects.

How the hell did I get here?
Rather than ask that question to himself, Katsuki should really ask the people -and by that the absolute morons- who thought it was a damn great idea to bring him to this place.
In a crowded gymnasium, filled with people he apparently went to high school with almost 10 years ago, as always he never bothered to remember anyone’s name nor faces. If they didn’t matter then without a doubt he will forget them the second they are out of sight and out of mind. Music booming so loudly people could clearly hear it from the outside. Streamers of blue and red -the colors of their school- hung in the ceilings, along with balloons that were either scattered on the floor or floating in the ceiling.
Of all the things his so called friends brought him to, it had to be this place.
