Geto Suguru was struggling to pay his way through university. He'd refused to take even a penny from his parents so he could be independent and free from their control, even if it was well intentioned. He'd soon taken up a job at a host club to help pay the bills. Maybe playing the hearts of countless people could be considered manipulative and cruel, but everyone who walked through the club's doors knew what they were agreeing to. As long as it kept him off the streets, then he didn't care. Or at least, that's what he told himself.
Gojo Satoru, on the other hand, was drowning in more money than he knew what to do with. It was also the only thing he had. He didn't know what love even was and he didn't even have his health, a sickness that he'd never gotten over taking everything away from him in high school. The idea of unconditional love and acceptance were alien to him, but when he researched hosts, someone who'd give him a beautiful fantasy in exchange for money, that was what could feel real to him.
Money was the one thing Satoru had and it was also the one thing Suguru needed.

It is the last thing Narumi hears before the numbing sensation prickles into his limbs. A panic bubbles within him and he tries to move, but it continues to spread throughout his whole body until all feeling vanishes out from under him and the world goes completely black.

Or, In the aftermath of the battle against Nine, Narumi wakes up in the hospital, disoriented by strange visions. Doubt clouds his entire sense of reality when Hoshina suddenly starts acting distant towards him.

Or; after returning to duty from postnatal leave, Soshiro struggles with anxiety at being separated from his daughter during the day. Mina notices this and sends him home, where Soshiro promptly makes out with his husband, has a few heart-to-hearts, and figures out a solution. Eventually.
