“What is this? Just, like, end of the world horniness, right?”
And Eddie forces his gaze to Steve’s face, where his eyes are blown and his color’s off, but his gaze is still so tender, like whatever hurt comes for what he’s about to do is acceptable, so long as it doesn’t touch Eddie. Like he’s…shielding Eddie from something worse than everything that’s already come, somehow, and that’s fucking terrifying in and of itself but—
But Steve—who he barely knows but feels like he knows somewhere deep in his chest—Steve protecting Eddie, and hurting all the more for taking the hit?
It’s unacceptable. It’s sour in Eddie’s veins.
“If I fuck it up again, it won’t matter, I guess,” Steve speaks almost to himself, like he’s reasoning with the universe.
That tips the sour feeling straight into full on sick.

First, I posted this on the wattpad first. But I decided to spread it to here too. (@Blueclues2025)
1986 was a nightmare Steve Harrington barely survived. The red sky, the crumbling earth, the devastating losses... it all felt terrifyingly real. Then, he wakes up in his 1983 bedroom, the white plaid curtains and old car photo jarringly out of place. He's three years in the past, days before the Upside Down will shatter the fragile peace of Hawkins.
Haunted by vivid memories of battles fought and friends lost to a monstrous entity named Vecna, Steve is thrust into a disorienting reality. His friends are younger, innocent, and blissfully unaware of the horrors to come. Robin Buckley Eddie Munson and Nancy, faces etched with the phantom fear of a future that hasn't happened yet, move through the school halls, oblivious to the crucial roles they will play.

Steve Harrington’s traveled through time before. Sort of. He doesn’t know if the Upside Down counts exactly, but it’s probably close enough. Real time travel–like that kid in the orange puffer vest and his weird scientist uncle-guy–doesn’t exist.
At least, he was pretty sure it didn’t, until Dustin insists he’s made his very own time machine to “fix Steve’s love life” and send him back in time to 1987 to do it.
Steve was gonna call the little butthead crazy, but then the weird contraption in his driveway starts buzzing and crackling—
And then Steve’s standing in front of The Hawk—“Grand Re-Opening” sign still clinging to the marquee—and hearing a voice he’s not heard in six years.
“Took you long enough, Harrington, movie’s about to start!”
