Tommy gasped.
“Fuck off. Their musical abilities are lost on you. You have shit taste.”
“Yeah, okay whatever. You have shit taste.”
Phil owns a record store and his three sons are employees. Tommy agreed to help out during the summer so pressure would be lifted from Wilbur's shoulders, but Wilbur is hiding something from him. Everyone else knows, but Tommy is left in the dark and struggles to accept that his small family might be splitting at the seams once again.

Summary
It takes six months for Tommy to come visit him. Part of Dream’s surprised it took so long. Part of Dream’s surprised he came at all.
The rest of him doesn’t really have the energy to care, through the hurting and the anger and the cold, constant anhedonia.
“Dream,” says Tommy, nervously, as he closes the door to Dream’s dismal little bedroom behind him. It’s a terrible opening gambit. He follows it up with an even worse one. “Dream, my man! You look– fucked up, actually, I mean. Philza said, but, wow, uh.” He laughs, and that’s nervous, too, a short little cut-off thing with none of its usual wheeze. “Wow.”
Dream reaches up to touch one of the puckered scars cut across his face by a pair of shears, and misses his mask with a deep and abiding ache, and does not flinch.
(In which Tommy visits Dream in the aftermath of the prison, and it is an ending, of sorts.)

Ranboo shivers again. The air is perfectly still. The sounds of the leaves beneath his feet as he shifts are almost… muted. Distant, like his head is underwater.

The EMF reader goes silent. For a moment, the only things Ranboo can hear are the sounds of his heartbeat and the shaky breaths he takes through his nose.
“Well,” Tubbo says, shattering the quiet. When he meets Ranboo’s eyes, he looks a bit less sure of himself. “How’s that for a welcoming party?”
Ranboo swallows, and ignores the part of himself whispering that it felt like a warning.

Tommy hums absent-mindedly underneath his breath as he continues on his walk, and just as he sees the school come into view, himself being right on time, his phone begins to buzz in his pocket.
He doesn’t think much of it. It’s a calm morning, the city is quiet, and he’s not thinking straight, with it still being early. He expects it to be some telemarketer, if anything. He doesn’t expect anything of the worst.

“Close them.” And Tommy knew, from some fuzzy part of his brain, that Techno was terrifying when he was angry, so he did as he was told, squeezing his eyes shut even though there was already a hand over them. “Good,” said Techno, still holding him tightly by the shoulders. “Now repeat after me.”
“Techno, what was—”
“I do not recognize the bodies in the water,” said Techno firmly, his hands gripping Tommy’s shoulders tighter. “Say it.”

“I’m fine,” Tommy says, before Wilbur can ask his inevitable question. “I’m fine, Wil. Jus’ tired.” His words are more slurred than he would prefer, but every sound that falls from his mouth is carefully crafted in an attempt to sound normal.
Just a few more hours, Tommy reminds himself, a couple more hours and then Tubbo will be by his side, Ranboo here with his med-kit, Purpled cracking jokes at the three of them all while rubbing circles into Tommy’s back.
A few more hours.
Tommy coughs, and he doesn’t know if he can wait that long.
Or: TommyInnit is a vigilante, and he gets stabbed (as one does). He arrives home and attempts to hide his injury from his family.
Instead, he passes out, and the rest of sbi discover what he's really doing when he leaves the apartment at night.

"Yes," Puffy nods, smiling, still encouraging. Something tight in Tommy's chest eases. "Yes, that is good. If sewing is something that helps take your mind off your anxieties and grounds you and makes you feel accomplished afterwards, then that means it's a good coping mechanism."

Summary
Hi, the desk read, written in a shaky handwriting that can only come from writing straight onto the flat surface, I like your drawings.
Tommy blinked, reading the sentence once, twice, before a large smile spread across his face that he quickly hid behind his hand before his teacher could see.
Next to the writing was a doodle of a small flower in a field. It wasn’t anything special, and there was no amazing skill behind it, but it looked nice. It looked right, slotted nicely into place with Tommy’s own scribbles.
Eagerly, Tommy fished his pencil out of his bag and added Hi. Thank you. I like your flower.
Or: Tommy spends his math classes doodling on his desk. He accidentally gains a pen pal.
