"Sorry, what the hell?" Crystal asked no one in particular.
Edwin hadn’t had use for his lungs in over a century, but suddenly he was unexpectedly breathless. "It really is you."
A low, velvety rumble of a chuckle shook the young man's shoulders in front of them. One glance over them, and the Cat King was grinning shamelessly, roguishly at Edwin again, like no time had passed at all. "Didn't I tell you that you'd miss me?"

The Dead Boy Detective agency is back in London, having attracted a lot of malicious intent from their work in Port Townsend. So when the Cat King stops by in offering his assistance, it isn’t in their best interest to refuse. However, when he ends up getting much closer than expected (aka love a found family, Mystery Inc. is never complete without Scooby), Edwin starts to wonder if his second chance at love has been staring at him all along through slit pupiled eyes.
It's a drabble fic of moments I had to write out or else I would lose what is left of my mind. Go nuts.

“The bloody Cat King. I thought we were done with that prick once we left Port Townsend,” Charles grumbled.
“I know,” Edwin sighed wearily, as this was the third variation of the same rant in the last twenty minutes. "And I know you will never be fond of him, but he is fond of me, and I am almost certain we can ask him for information without him wanting to extract too troublesome a toll.”
“Fine,” Charles huffed irritably. “But I’m coming with you.”
“Of course,” Edwin smiled fondly. “I wouldn’t dream of trying to convince you otherwise.”

This term, though, there’s a new teacher at the ladies school next door; some sort of witch, it would seem. Charles won’t stop staring at her across the wall separating the two schools. And that’s not the only disturbing thing.

Summary
Bayezid the Thunderbolt, ex-Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, vampiric royalty in his own right and personal friend of Nandor’s, is getting taken to court by his ex-girlfriend for misleading her about what life as a vampire actually entails and for turning her at a point where her brain is still five years away from fully developing. It’s not great. He goes to Laszlo for legal representation, mostly out of a lack of other options.
Amidst the obvious ethical problems, Nandor struggles with the idea of turning as an act of love as well as the issue of how power should be negotiated in cases of vampire and human relationships — hitting a little too close to home for his comfort in unexpected places.
What with vampire society in shambles due to the possible legal implications of Bayezid’s ex winning the case and Guillermo’s distracting eyes, his week could be going better.

Edwin presses his lips not to let his smile grow further, thinks if there will be an excuse waiting for him each time, too, and says, “Buying my presence with flowers, then?”
“Depends,” The older being answers, the tip of his fingers going higher and higher until they are nearly touching Edwin’s collar and neck. Were he still alive, he thinks he would still feel them there; their warmth, so close to his skin. As things are, however, he doesn’t, and he doesn’t dwell on it further. He doesn’t. Instead, he locks eyes with the Cat King and watches as the man's eyebrows arch and he blinks delicately in faux innocence, sees his lips as they move, “Is it working?”
Edwin squints his eyes at the Cat King in a way he dearly hoped would express exactly how much he was fighting the urge to roll his eyes.

Summary
The Cat King had imagined meeting Edwin again, of course he had. Quite a few times. So many times, in fact, that he's concocted a fair amount of different ways they could potentially see each other again. And yet in all of that time, this had never been the scenario.
Because firstly, Edwin's little buddy Charles is storming into his warehouse, cricket bat at the ready. That's not necessarily a mood killer, considering winding him up while he's already on the edge would certainly be amusing. But Edwin is trailing behind him looking positively...off.
